2.7TDi Sport lost drive

Hi

I have lost drive on my 2008 Audi A5 2.7 TDi Sport.

There is no drive in D, S or R. There is an icon of a gear (white) on the dash with an exclamation mark in the middle of it.

When I put it into any mode, a slight rumbling noise can be heard. Is the gearbox dead? The car has 175K.

Googled it and said that it has "failed in Tiptronic mode, disabled tiptronic mode, push gear lever to left and use D/S mode. Plugged in OBDII ELM 327 WiFi unit with phone and comes back with no faults!!

This still does not work....please help!!
