southweststokie Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 New model observation, which is proving to be extremely annoying. Very happy with car in general, but it has one major niggle that doesn't seem to want to go away. I have the panoramic sunroof fitted, and just above the passenger seat, it continuously creaks and rattles. Hoping the dealer will be able to sort. Has anyone else taking a newbie model had any similar observations ?
Audi Owners Club. Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Hi Miles....welcome to the Forum Hopefully this is an issue your dealer can sort out, it must be driving you mad considering it's just above your head. Maybe just misaligned or missing a clip or something. Keep us posted Cheers, Trevor
southweststokie Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 Yes, going to go into Tetbury Audi over the next couple of weeks for 20K service (first one), and this is the only other 'job' on the list. The only way I can fully capture the driving experience of the new Q7 is that it's like driving silk. It's so smooth, effortless and is just perfect (aside from the annoying sunroof glitch). If anyone has any Q's about it, happy to oblige - 2016 Q7, 272bhp, S-Line with a few knobs and switches, but not all. SWS 1
Audi Owners Club. Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 keep us updated with how it all goes Miles.....would be interested to find out what the cause of the creaking sunroof is.
Steve Q Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Welcome to the forum Miles :) sorry to hear your having issues with your q7. They are lovely cars to drive and be in! I do hope the dealer can sort it for you quickly and with little fuss! Min assuming it opens and closes smoothly despite the creaking noise? I know it's not the same but on my old Ford escort which has a tilt and slide sunroof, I find WD40 works a treat when the sunroof gets stiff. I spray it on the runners and other moving parts and it solves any issues. The escort is my 2nd car btw lol there should be a section in the owners manual about sunroof maintenance. Cheers steve 1
