Martin Cleveland Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 Hi new to the group, I have a 2007 SE ,I recently bought a update disk from a internet seller with 2016/17 mapping. As I'm sure you all know the disk player in the spare wheel compartment won't open. Is it locked by the cars system. Very sorry if this has been asked many times before, What do I do, visit a specialist or home fix? Thank you Martin
Trevor Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Not entirely sure but not seen anything on here stating that you can do it yourself, not without visiting a specialist to code it up
Lanky111 Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 I got an update from Audi Updates on the tinterweb - came with full instructions on how to proceed. I know with mine I had to send them my VIN number as there is a licence file that is needed to associate the maps to the car. 1
Bigdave1230 Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 I bought a disc and had the same problem. It's locked at the factory and have been told that when they arrive at the dealer they should unlock it there but not all did. You need vagcom /vcds to unlock. It's very simple and takes 5 minutes to do as it just involves changing a 0 to a 1 or vice versa. I'd try ringing your local Audi dealer and tell them that you have spoken to Audi U.K. Who have told you that it should of been unlocked when new and said to ring your Audi dealer and ask them to do it. If they want to charge you then any local independent with vcds can do it for less
