reading the forums i have found out about what my 2008 (57) - Audi A6 3.0 TDI sline Le Mans Quattro can do which i never knew before like holding the unlock button down on the key fob will open the windows and the same holding the button down when locking the car will close the windows :)

i`ve yet to try the passenger mirror pointing down when reversing as i cant find the post again.

are there any other tricks or tips i may be missing out on

The passenger mirror tilt is only activated when you have it in set mirror (passenger)  and you maybe have to activate it whit the computer as not all of them have it from factory set.

This works only on facelifted models and requires coding

It can be done on pre facelift but requires door modules change and coding

Try to activate it on my A6 with vcds but it does not come up strangely... a5 was no problem

and I thought that a6 would have it definitely build in.

You might be right with door modules!
