Steve Q Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Saw these on a Facebook page and now I want an a6 trailer! What do you guys and gels think? How easy is it to do and what's the legalities of this? 1
WPAWS Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Got to be the same as a normal trailer i would guess nothing more than a good looking trailer :)
Dan3222 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Yeah, less than 400 weight brakes aren't needed, if trailer weighs more then it must have brakes. If you make a trailer like that you don't have to have it tested legally but it is best to as if you get pulled by the police they can worst case scenario impound it if they suspect something could be wrong with it. I got 3 points and a fine, CU10 for defective brakes on a transporter trailer 3 years ago, trailer was banned from the roads until it had a test. Bit of a nightmare. 😔

Where do you get them tested? 12 hours ago, Paul A6 said: Got to be the same as a normal trailer i would guess nothing more than a good looking trailer :) Couldn't agree more Paul :) i find most trailer designs boring!
Dan3222 Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 A VOSA testing centre. One that you take commercial vehicle too. quite easy to pass, brakes have to lock enough when a hand brake is applied and lights have to work. No loose bolts or fixings!!

Steve Q Posted May 2, 2018 Author Posted May 2, 2018 I don't normally revive an old thread but just look at these trailers! And here's a link to the build thread for Audi sport.net BBQ trailer: https://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/audi-sport-net-new-bbq-build-thread.196398/ Enjoy! Cheers :) Steve
