panyan Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Hi All I'am a newbie so be kind just bought a 4 month old Audi A3 S-Line 2017 1.6 TDI manuel for my wife the problem we are having is she has stalled it 7 times and i have stalled it 3 times when i have driven it , Now we all have stalled a car at some point but we are both good drivers and this does not seem right as at one point my wife was joining a motorway from the slip road and went to change gear and the engine stopped then she needed to switch on the hazard warning light to switch off and restart the car, same with me a few times when i have changed gear to go around a corner the engine has stopped needing me to switch off the engine and restart . We think it may have something to do with the stop/start system . It goes in to Audi next week to be checked , No fault codes have come up and only happens now and again so is unlikely to show up on the diagnostic test , Audi have said that on the 2017 models the stop/start was changed where as you can be below 7mph and the stop/start will cut in but if that's the case as soon as we release the clutch the engine should restart but it don't any thoughts . Thanks.
Magnet Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Hello Edward, Well Bridgend eh. - I'm very close to you, and I take it you bought it from our local Audi main dealer. In my book, what you don't need to worry about is why this car is stalling ( and by what you describe, it sounds more like cutting out, but...) What you do need to worry about is how predictably safe this car is to continue using before they can look at it in over a week's time. If it were mine, I would be returning it to Mr. S...'s dealership as soon as possible, and requesting they keep it there meanwhile, and provide you with a courtesy car until it is sorted. Good luck in getting it sorted quickly and safely. Kind regards, Gareth.
panyan Posted September 4, 2017 Author Posted September 4, 2017 Cheers Gareth In fact it was Cardiff Audi and that's not a bad idea as i am a bit worried for the wife.
