cliffg007 Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I have just had my car serviced and got talking (as you do) to the Audi guy about Adblue. He said my car had a DPF even though it uses Adblue. I was under the impression that you had one OR the other. Who is correct? Cliff
niedzial1983 Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Every diesel after 2007 have DPF regardless if it has adblue or not
Steve Q Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Yep Piotr is right dpfs were brought in 2007 to meet the, then new emissions rules. However there are new rules in.which are even stricter. Hence the adblue. Basically a dpf reduces the amount of particulates an engine produces whereas adblue is designed to reduces the amount of nitrates the car produces. Hope I've helped :) Cheers Steve
niedzial1983 Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I think dpf was introduced to meet euro emmition standard 5 and adblue to meet euro 6
