Beaconjon Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 One month in on my 2014 Avant and I've noticed the radio reception is pretty poor. My friends Passat of a similar age is spot on. Am I right that the aerial is located in the rear of the car somewhere? Is there a common failing at all?
Descarl Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 As I understand it all the radio antennas are in the rear window, have to say though on my A4 B8 I haven't had a problem with radio reception. With FM and DAB I get good reception, equal or better than any other car I've had anyway, most window antennas also have a amplifier so it might be worth checking that?
Beaconjon Posted November 13, 2017 Author Posted November 13, 2017 The antennas themselves are in the side glass off the estate part. I'm after the location of the booster as I think this may be an issue.
Beaconjon Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 Still getting really poor reception some days. I read on another forum that the B8 Avant with factory tints on the rear are poor for radio reception . It would be nice if there is an option to stuff a standard DAB aerial away somewhere.
Beaconjon Posted December 8, 2017 Author Posted December 8, 2017 Sussed it. With the ignition off I noticed the radio worked perfectly. Traced it down to the twin USB charger I had plugged into the 12v Aux socket under the arm rest. Result!
David466 Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 My Audi's MMI shows diffrent location for example I am in one street and he shows that im in other street
ChrisDann Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 I’ve just unplugged my twin usb under the armrest! Success!!! Thankyou for previous post!!!
