Tony A Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 My car is running normally, is not overheating, and levels are correct. But the engine light has come on and both cooling fans stay on for about 5 minutes after I switch off. Audi garage advised me that the pump has failed and I need a new cooling pump/thermostat assembly (Very expensive!). Surely if the pump wasn't working the engine would overheat. Could it be a faulty sensor somewhere?
SeanA4 Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 I'd get it scanned for the fault code to be honest. Or get yourself a small bluetooth obd scanner that you can connect to your phone. Saved me many £££s over the years. Do you drive it hard before you stop? I'm sure someone will be along to provide a better response. Hope it gets sorted soon
Tony A Posted December 6, 2017 Author Posted December 6, 2017 Took the car to Audi specialist. Paid £720 to change the water pump valve assembly and water pump!! Just because of a warning light, but you have to rely on their professional advice!
Petrol head Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Similar concern got on my A8.Have your concern sorted out after replacing the water pump and valve assembly ? Thanks for your update Jose
