iw1961 Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Hi Wondering if anyone can help shed some light on my problem. EML light came on and subsequent diagnosis was the EGR valve wasn't working. So the garage replaced the valve and reset light. Day later light back on. They have checked the valve is opening and closing properly and reset the the light. But it keeps coming back on and the diagnostics report EGR valve They are now stumped and I'm cheesed off. What do I need to know? Thanks in advance Ian
Steve Q Posted January 21, 2018 Posted January 21, 2018 Welcome to the forum Ian, you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) If the egr/egr cooler have been replaced and the light is still on then I wonder if it is a sensor which is at fault? What issues are you experiencing when driving? Cheers Steve
iw1961 Posted January 21, 2018 Author Posted January 21, 2018 Hi Steve Thanks for getting back to me. I don't appear to have any issues at all. It makes progress, pulls like a train and generally doesn't seem to have a problem. It's just the light on the dash. But I have just read somewhere that the new mot manual which comes into force in May will make an illuminated Engine Management Light an Mot failure, hence the question. So I suppose I had better get it sorted.

My other option would be to get a second opinion at another garage or even Audi themselves. Sorry I can't help more. Cheers Steve
