JP ONeill Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Hi all, I recently bought a 2004 A3 (Special addition) and i didn't notice at the time that the front foglights have red glass! Anybody ever seen anything like that? I don't wantto get pulledby the cops, do i need to replace the glass? This is my first Audi.

Use a hair dryer or heat gun to remove the film. And.yes it is illegal. Displaying any form of red lights on the front is illegal. Cheers Steve

Cheers Steve In terms of modifying headlights and fog lights, it is a legal requirement for all front facing lamps to glow white or yellow, while rear lights should always be red. Any other colour is not permitted. Blue lights can restrict vision and the law states that only emergency vehicles can display these lights. JP ONeill Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Thanks guys, I knew it was illegal, I just didn't understand why anyone would do that and tbh makes me wonder how it passed its MOT. I'll see if I can get some heat on it and see if it comes off. It has some other issues too, but that'll be another thread i think! Thanks again for the welcome!
