  1. Describe it like it is. "Moderately good condition, broken bolt hole on rear of casing but otherwise sound (if it is)" Then describe the condition of the working parts of the gearbox in the same open honest way. If you miss out a defect, the buyer will want their money back and your seller rating will plummet.

  2. I'm sorry I can't help with the gearbox, but it definitely sounds faulty. I would get it looked at. If you find the car rolls back when you are facing up a hill, why not try pulling the handbrake on? If it is the auto handbrake with a switch, it will release as the engine starts tries to move the car. If it is the traditional lever type, then as the front of the car starts to rise, release the handbrake. Good luck!

  3. Yes Mike798, you are correct in thinking that the cooling fan run on period and odour is caused by the DPF re-generation. The DPF can reach temperatures in excess of 700 degrees centigrade during the re-generation period. If the engine is switched off when the engine is running in re-generation mode, the cooling fans have to run to circulate air around the engine bay and cool the very hot DPF (usually bolted to the back of the engine) to prevent excessive heat build up. 4. Hi Keane and welcome to the site! If you have cruise control, there will be an extra stalk sticking out of the left of the steering wheel cowling, behind and below the indicator stalk. Also, if you set the lights to "Auto" and leave them there when you get out of the car, the fog lights will come on and stay on for a while. Also when you unlock it. You can control how long they stay on from the menu in the Driver Info System. No idea if the DRLs will do this as well. Why not get some pics of the car up on this site?
