  2. The coolant sensors tend to fail over time but cheap to replace also, check the connector and wiring going to the sensor as these tend to break. Otherwise these big diesel engines don't tend to run too hot.

  3. Hi Trevor and thanks for the warm welcome. I'm a 320D owner (boo) and understand that if you look after something it will tend to look after you. I got the A3 as an upgrade on the wife's Clio and was trying to get a feel for the in's and out's of A3 ownership. Shell Lube match suggests Helix Ultra Professional AV-L 0W-30, does anyone have experience with this particular oil? Thanks

  5. Great choice of vehicles there Simon....do you use the A4 Cab in the winter as well? I find the Z3 has a great heater and it's fun to take out on a cold but sunny winters day as long as it's dry

  8. Hi Sven...welcome to the Club! I have found that the fan motors tend to dry up on the bearings and become semi-seized...a bit of lube spray to ease the bearing and it's then fine. Otherwise if its a control issue...try cleaning out the ambient air temperature sensor aperture on the dashboard as these can block up with dust, etc. Regards Trevor - Admin
