  1. Hi Andy....welcome to the Forum It sounds like the engine management system needs programming in (throttle potentiometer, idle control, etc) as it almost sounds like a default setting like when you disconnect the battery and it has to relearn...only an idea but worth running a scan on it to see if there are any fault codes in the ECU memory. Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor

  2. sWill do, the topic of Drainage channels reminded me of my old D plate Cavalier SRi , a few occasions when driving it would suddenly mist up and when I say mist up it was like a sauna. No idea what was causing it until I noticed it only happened when going around a corner after heavy rain or after going through a car wash, I opened the bonnet and the blower sat is a trough which was full of water, god knows how it kept working but clearing the drainage channels did the trick.

  4. Sally. What were the faults and what were the solutions? The details should be on your invoice.

  6. HI Calvin...welcome to the Forum I would agree with everything that Magnet has said but it may also be worth checking the number plate lights as there may be two of them and only one working? Let us know how you get on with it all Cheers Trevor

  7. Hello Calvin, and a welcome from the homeland. Warning light issues:- Faulty signal bulbs? Does this refer to the indicators? If so, you may find that although the indicators are working there might just be two bulbs per side in say the rear lights, and one of them has blown. Having said that, you should find that if that is the case then they will flash at different rates side to side. I would suggest checking these in the dark and assessing if one side is not as bright as the other. Low coolant light? Back to basics- you say you have some coolant in the reservoir, but how much? Check when cold and top up with the correct coolant mix to just below the max. line. Low coolant light still on? You should find there is a low coolant level sensor built into the reservoir. This sensor has a plug going into it and it is worth a try unplugging this and giving it a squirt of contact cleaner and refitting. If the light is still showing then I would guess the sensor is at fault and should be replaced. I don't think these warning lights are anything to do with a need to reset them, but are giving you a warning that there is a fault of some kind. Good luck in getting it sorted, and it would be interesting to know what solves it. Kind regards, Gareth.c

  8. Hi all, When I got my A6 2006 Avant it had the 6 CD changer in the glove box. I had bluetooth function for the phone (if you had one of the shark fin aerials on the roof I believe that generally means you have bluetooth connectivity) but doesn't have media functionality, you can just make calls. I bought an AMI unit from eBay, (part no. 4E0 035 785 B), and replaced the CD changer - took 5 minutes. (I had already updated the MMI software to the latest versions with CDs I burned from the internet). I then bought a Tune2Air bluetooth device from ebay. With an Audi AMI ipod cable, this plugs directly into the AMI unit, streams the music from your phone/ipod/whatever (iTunes, Spotify etc) through the stereo. Tracklisting with appear on the MMI screen for most devices, and tracks can be skipped with the < and > buttons. All works perfectly, probably about £500 in total to do the work.

  10. According to the video, it doesn't look like you can listen to your music via bluetooth but need this aux cable. I don't have an aux cable installed in the glove box or centre console so it cannot be standard in my 2007 S6. Any idea where it's meant to plug into?
