  2. Hi Mik...welcome to the Forum If it's a holed flexi-hose joining up to the cat, you can replace them by removing it (if fitted with u-clamps) or by cutting off the old ones and welding in new ones. Otherwise, sounds like a great car if that and the wings are the only issues. Cheers Trevor

  3. Yes, I got it in September and love it. Use the ACC all the time (although it is not fool proof) - only slight issue I have is that on mine, it chucks a lot out of the white exhaust stuff on tickover and under hard acceleration - I have had it checked out at the dealers though and have seen others doing it as well - just seems that TFSI engines are prone to doing this for some reason. In terms of value for money I guess you get more spec on a Golf, but I always wanted an Audi! In fact, my wife has just ordered an A1 1.4TFSI 125 Sport Sportback so we will have two fairly soon! One thing that is slightly disappointing though is that the standard sound system is not great. I also did not spec reversing sensors either (such a cheek they do not come as standard though) but if you are interested in either of these, I would spec the comfort and sound pack (£995) - its the one thing I regret not getting. Still waiting to calculate accurate mpg, but as most of my journeys are short/urban I never get great economy

  4. Hello Bill, Personally, I would exercise extreme caution with this. After all, what you are considering is to is to depart (albeit slightly) from the manufacturer's recommendation simply to save some money. Audi would have developed this car and decided what was the best tyre size for its power and handling characteristics. The final recommendation would be to consult the car's handbook and see if the undersize is indeed a recognised alternative to the ones on there. If so, great. Of not....? I guess it's not out of the question that a previous owner may have fitted an oversize! - the handbook could be the best source for you, and always worth a look. Of course the final decision will be yours, but if you did find yourself in a claim situation with your insurers at any time, then they might just look upon this downsize unfavourably. If it were mine, and you decide to go for the cheaper option, then I would at least pass this passed your insurer just to be sure. Not sure if this helps or hinders, but I think you are very wise to seek advice. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Kind regards, Gareth.
