  3. Hi Justin...welcome to the Forum As Brad-B5 has stated, loose connection....that is also what I would go for to start with. Check where the wiring goes from the pillar to the door through the flexible trunking and see if there is any broken or chaffed wires where it articulates every time the door opens/closes. Let us know what you find Cheers Trevor

  4. Loose connection? when you've driven for 20 mins and unlock it (when it works) does it make a different sound at all or sounds normal? Can you unlock it using the actual key?

  5. @nellyboy__ What Trevor said, it's this system that just runs through the things, (more of a reassurance thing) that Audi put in place :) if there is an Issue with the car a symbol will pop up and stay on at all times. if unsure run a diagnostics on the car ;) Bradley

  6. I haven't so this isn't through experience of having one fitted, Sorry but anything that will allow better air flow will (should do anyway) help increase power or help with MPG and with the engine breathing better it may also Make the engine quieter and smoother. Shouldn't be classed as a mod unless theres is a performance gain (add more BHP) such as a Remap or tuning ect. NOTE: Not through having it done, hopefully someone who has had it done replies. Hope this helps :)

  7. Ok so went to Audi this morning they confirmed haven't had any issues with these being a common fault, talked the warranty card but unfortunately not in so either pay £1,000 to them to replace whole instrument cluster or try Dash Repairs a company who would take your faulty item and repair surely got to be worth a try right. Watch this space.........will upload details as and when i get more info. :)

  9. Hello Michael, I too would be tending to discount the battery and indeed the starter motor since you say it appears to start OK from cold when there would be a far greater load on these components. Of course, it's always difficult to diagnose these problems, but it could (just could) be an injector/s at fault and perhaps giving you symptoms of "misfire". As I understand it, even one faulty injector can have a significant influence on how it starts and runs. Not sure if this would show up on the diagnostics, but failing that it would be a question of having a leak- back test on them, and if any issues, taking them out and having them checked - not too expensive to have them checked. Good luck with sorting it. Kind regards, Gareth.

  10. Hi Paul...welcome to the Forum Interesting conclusion to what must have been a really annoying (understatement!) problem. I have only ever experienced this before with cars that have been horrendously out of alignment on the front wheels where the tyres tend to drag and buck when on a hard lock and the power being applied. As FrenchAvant has stated, tyre pressures also could account for it in some respects, so worth seeing what the pressures are set to now and that may answer that question. Thanks for the feedback and letting us know so that we can enter it into our knowledgebase in case others experience this fault in the future. Cheers Trevor

  11. Are you using the same tyre pressures as with the Pirellis?

  12. Thanks for your input Brad-B5 it seems like a common fault that a lot of Audi's and other turbocharged cars suffer from the variable vanes gumming up with carbon and flagging up the fault in the ECU resulting in the car going into Limp Home. Sometimes, flushing through with proprietary cleaners helps but if gone too far then replacement turbo or cassette is required. Other areas to consider are also as already mentioned, boost leaks (intercooler, hoses) and also boost solenoids going faulty.

  13. Hi Nelly...welcome to the Forum It would seem that you are running through the warning lamp system to ensure that they are working correctly. I don't see that you have any issues there. Cheers Trevor

  14. Hi Tony...welcome to the Forum I would definitely recommend running your car on premium fuel and I would head more towards Shell...only because they have a good reward scheme with money back on fuel purchases. Try iceboxautos for an aftermarket system http://www.iceboxauto.com/audi Cheers Trevor
