  3. One way is to cover the area around the hose connections with soapy water and see if there is a leak present. For diagnosis of the turbo boost pressure you will need a scanner with live data readout facilities.

  5. I totally agree with Brad-B5 especially when it comes to loose/broken clips because when boost is pressurising in the hoses, etc it can emit a whistle so worth checking them. Diagnostics should tell you the boost pressure and if the turbo is not boosting as much as it should then it maybe a new one required. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

  6. Hi Surfwill123, Sounds to me like a a breather pipe going to the turbo (usually plastic) , have it go into a diagnostics that's your best chance. drive carefully until this is done. other issue could be the Turbo (sorry) but even though you're unable to feel a difference in speeding up, only in first could mean one of the blades in the turbo has very slight movement. I'd highly recommend going for a diagnostics to prevent further damage. Keep use updated and good luck! Bradley

  7. Hi Trevor thank you for the response. Audi checked for leaks and apparently if you leave the vehicle over night in the raised position any leak would show itself with the suspension lowering on the shock that was leaking? Unfortunately need to get fixed so trying to find a recommendation of a good specialist if possible thank you again

  8. I have just got off the phone to Cluster Repairs Uk located in Great Yarmouth the guy informed me on this model this is only the start eventually all the illuminated cluster will go including the needles so based on that the whole Cluster Unit would be repaired and would be 10-15% brighter illumination at a cost of £150 includes VAT and return postage.

  9. Hi Peter....welcome to the Forum It sounds very much like there is an unusual fault that being difficult to diagnose does not allow much profit from the repair so I can see why the dealer is quite reluctant to break into a sweat to fix it. Its a case of either throwing huge money at replacing lots of components in the hope that they fall over the fault at some point. If it was my car, I would probably live with the fault if it doesn't have a hugh effect on the handling, etc. I don't think replacing the pump would resolve the issue, however, there could be a leak on one of the air suspension units which could throw up the fault but without codes...possibly? Keep us updated on what you find with this fault Cheers Trevor

  13. Only unless you're unlucky, but newer models don't tent to have faults like that, it could be more electrical (Because of more tech) but then again any new car and model could have so I wouldn't worry. What Audi you looking to get? Cheers Bradley

  14. Thank you for the very sound advice, I'm going to test drive the car today and I'll try get the previous owners contact details off the dealer. I've done my research and think I know what to look out for. I will let you know how it goes.

  15. Hello Mark, Can I take it you are considering a new DMF rather than a secondhand one? If new, I would have thought they would have been available from manufacturer LUK who supply replacement clutches. There are other replacemnt clutch component manufacturers, but personally I stick with LUK. You could try on line, or your local motor factors. Good luck with it. Kind regards, Gareth.

  16. Thanks. I noticed the same mod by US owners on YouTube and have asked a couple of audio installers what they'd recommend - but didn't get much help! Look forward to hearing how it goes in due course.
