Hi Antabb, Excellent car car is the A7! What spec did you get? If it's anything like my A6 which I imagine it is, you will certainly find it's a "Drivers Car"2 points

Looked back through the file for you Clifford and have the following information for you:- Skoda Parts Shop (their EBay user name I think) are Rainsworth Skoda at Mansfield, Notts. and the phone number is 01623 623400. Ask for their parts department and you should get Dan, or from memory (not very good!) possibly Jonathan. I have bought quite a few service items off them, and you usually get a reasonable discount. The "part ABS" unit we had from them for a 2006 A3 1.6 was:- Part no. was 1K0698517B and was described as a Repair Kit, and from memory included the already assembled valve portion. The cost back in August 2012 was then £164.98 inc. VAT. I didn't actually fit it, but as I recall, was simply the top half of the easily accessible ABS unit. Wouldn't have thought there was any great problem in doing this, but cleanliness would obviously be of paramount importance. Hope this helps. Incidentally the mileage at that time would have been a little over 100K. Good luck with it, and it would be useful to know if this VAG part is still available. Could you let us know? Kind regards, Gareth.2 points

Hello Clifford, I think this may be one of VAG's "common problems". Well at least that is what I understood some years ago when we had a similar issue with the 2006 A3 Sportback. At that time, I approached The Skoda Parts Shop ( up north somewhere and no connection) since this was where we were getting service items at discount. They were able to provide a "part ABS" unit at a not too unreasonable price at that time. If you need me to, I will try and see if I can find the receipt in the file and give you some more information. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. Mileage would be interesting.2 points

Good morning to all. I've joined the club in the hope someone out there can help. I bought an ex demonstrator the in the second half of 2016 and since then I've been trying to get two large dials for the speedo and rev counter to display on the virtual cockpit. As a default I only seem able to get a single large dial for the rev counter displayed centrally with a large digital readout for the speed shown in the centre of the dial. Does anyone know if this is a result of whatever strange package I have or whether it's a fault. All the you tube demos I've seen for the car show two separate large dials. I've tried Audi customer service without much success which is odd to say the least. Other than that ... What a machine!! .PS I can get two dials when I select the alternate view, but the tiny version of the dials.1 point

Hey all, As you may know that the law is changing on the 1st of April with car tax and new car's will be affected by this, some paying hundred's or even thousand's more (after 1st of April) than when a new car is bought now (Before 1st of April). I want to know your thought's on this and if you're going to benefit from the change (pay less road tax) or worse off. NOTE: The change will affect anyone buying a new car from April this year. If you want more Information on this here are some links that will help you out; https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/vehicles-registered-on-or-after-1-april-2017 https://www.ultimatespecs.com/car-specs/Audi/3811/Audi-A4-(B5)-19-TDI-115.html http://home.bt.com/lifestyle/money/mortgages-bills/new-car-tax-rules-in-april-2017-whats-changing-and-what-it-costs-11364136303340 Live Count Down: https://days.to/1-april/2017 Thanks Bradley1 point

Hello Clifford, I'm not sure if I've become rather confused with this, but the way I looked at it was, the price-to -beat was around £1500 at the main delear (OK with fitting), and so the £165 for the genuine VAG part from Rainsworth Skoda seemed attractive enough not to be bothered with EBay or scrapyards. Not sure whether that avenue us been investigated. Kind regards, Gareth.1 point

T This was the other thing me and the guy both said it could be as well, very frustrating, a lot of money going into this car, yet again it's 16/17 years old now so needs a bit of love and care :)1 point

I took my 2010 Q5 in to have it done 5 weeks ago. It lost 20-25% of its fuel economy and now has uneven power delivery when the engine is under load. it has totally changed the character of the car and ruined it. Audi have had it back twice and can't fix it. I am still without it and I am not optimistic that I will ever get it back as it was before the EA189 update was done. DON'T DO IT!!1 point

This was exactly me when I first bought it lol I did though definitely feel the change and not it's more for peace of mind that it's keeping my engine cleaner and in good condition ;)1 point

Yup, they have enticed enough people now that when they start paying road tax they will have millions more come in now. Think they had this planned for a long time!1 point

Does the smoke smell of oil or fuel? If not, then it may be steam and this is coolant being burnt within the engine...if so, this can cause tremendous damage to the pistons and cylinder head so if you are losing coolant then it needs investigating immediately. It could also be fuel particulates being converted in the Cat and emitting as water vapour in which case it can damage the cat and may indicate that you have a misfire issue.1 point

Hi Dan Welcome to the forum! Great car choice for your first Audi, I'd say when it comes to modding lowering it would make it look very nice, new alloys ect :) how crazy do you want to go with the modding? boy racer or subtle? Regards Bradley1 point

Hi James This could be apart of the issue, change it and see if it makes a difference, if so keep us updated on the issue would be interesting to see what the issue of the problem was. Kind regards Bradley1 point

Hi Adie That's a big price for service, have you tried looking for Audi Specialists in your area? Also looking on the Audi Website this is all I could find which may be the cost added onto a normal service (See picture) Just this is £225, so adding the £225 onto the original price might be the reason but the high cost. Hope this helps and keep us updated :) Regards Bradley1 point
-
I agree, get the 2011 model :) also you can always get a sline one day, never say never ;) Keep us updated on whats happening I'd be very keen on seeing a few more pics and your thoughts on it too! Regards Bradley1 point

My cab just unlocks boot. As for the water you have 2 vents either side on car there is a fault with them. Just had mine done everything OK.1 point

Hmm, in that case i think the lower Mileage ( 2011 a3 sportback sport auto 73k ) because even though the the black edition looks more sporty it could come with more issues, but then 93k on a diesel engine is still pretty low. the sportback 73k has more life in it if you're planning on doing alot a miles and keep it for a while. Regards Bradley1 point
-
Is the S line a diesel or petrol? also think you should have a look in person but lower mileage doesn't always mean better condition or less problems, depends on how the other owner/s looked after it. :) Regards Bradley1 point

Hi Cliff Have you looked on these following website? http://www.breakeryard.com/ http://www.eurocarparts.com/ Regards Bradley1 point

Found this forum, this says it all to me and confirms every thing i have been told about the "software update" http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/volkswagen-emissions-scandal/8-reports-of-volkswagen-tiguans-losing-power-after-ea189-emissions-fix/ Scroll down to read what owners have posted,a nightmare for some.1 point

AH okay! haha, different turbos from a different audi that bolt straight on I'm not sure sorry :( but if you wanted to have bhp gains like that then probs do a stage 2 remap and change the clutch and air filters, but then maby need to change for a bigger turbo. There are other Audi pages out there, all are active but it's just that we have alot of people sign up and ask question but not many people tend to respond :( so we try our best anyway, hope the community can grow! :)1 point

Well Clifford, I think Philip was referring to improving his brakes, and that is why I asked if he knew what pads etc were currently fitted since my experience with the A3 was that they were more than adequate as standard - to say the least. Of course, opinions and personal preferences differ, but stretching back to a time I had hair!, I haven't previously come across anyone who wants to downgrade their braking efficiency. I drive a number of cars from pre war to let's say prestige, and I find myself fairly quickly adjusting to the Audi's required brake pedal pressure and certainly would not wish to downgrade them. Anyway Clifford, as I say, only a personal opinion. Kind regards, Gareth.1 point
