  2. good afternoon everybody this might be a but unusual but I don't know how to get further. since more than 12 months ago, someone parked an Audi S2 at a private parking lot in Holland. this person has since then left the car there for more than 12 months and the owners of the carpark want the car gone. they asked me to find the owner and see if he can come and pick up his car. if we can't find him or her, the car will be send to the scrapyard and that would be a shame as it's a beautiful car its a green Audi S2 (I think) build in 1994 reg plate M468 RFS who knows who the owner is and how I can find him or her. my private email adress is m.beerthuizen@gmail.com thank you all! martijn

  3. Cracking tyre wet and dry and at around £115 a corner fitted not bank breakingly expensive. Changed the way my Insignia drove significantly eliminating tracking on overbanding etc. Rainsport3 the latest iteration. Living in the Area of the home of Avon Tyres (Cooper Tires) I should show loyalty to them - have run Avons on Motorcycles for years though. Will consider Avon come the time to change as they are very well reviewed...

  4. Haven't had the pleasure of changing the Tyres on my A6 yet - 245 45 18's but ran same size on previous car and Found Uniroyal Rainsport a cracking option. Colleague used to run them on his A6 and prefered them.

  6. Thanks for the update Carl. Now if my maths serves me well after all these years, you paid an extra £46 to get a pollen filter changed - plus whatever the nogatioated discount you managed on the original oil and filter change. Re taking your own oil next time:- well you could try, but there is a well quoted tale of the restaurant owner who often did the same thing at his local garage, until the garage owner visited the restaurant with his own steak, and asked to simply be charged for cooking it! Still, you've had it all done now. Kind regards, Gareth.

  7. As title...looking for a A4 B5 Avant 1.8T Quattro Sport.Currently running a saloon TQS but would ideally like the bigger load carrying space. I'm considering spending a little on some engine mods inc a bigger turbo and other associated mods but a Avant would be more suitable.Happy to consider anything but specifically interested in something that's already had some mods especially in the Turbo / tuning front.

  8. If you're entitled to the card and were not supplied one (i.e. you bought a spec with Sat Nav supposed to be present and usable) maybe you can go back to the seller. But I have to say the SD based Sat Nav is in my opinion very inferior to what you'll get from, say, Google Maps on your phone to the point I have the Audi SD based Sat Nav but choose to use my phone instead. My experience with Audi's implementation is it's embarrassingly slow to set up a destination and has demonstrated some bizarre routing choices. Only nice feature is the automatic offer to navigate to the nearest petrol station it's aware of if fuel gets really low. Voice recognition via the MMI is also far inferior (both recognition performance and options for what you can say) to what I get from my phone in the car (in my case Android) You can get something like this to neatly 'install' your phone in your A3 :-) https://www.audiphoneholder.com/

  9. Just have the place replace the turbo cartridge.... BKD's standard turbo cart is only £85 I think. They'll have the remove the turbo, replace the cartridge and re-install.. will be around £300+ labour

  11. Update. Friendly local MOT station gave me this procedure from the Autodata system:- Switch ingintion ON. PULL and hold trip button until the message "Service" appears in the display. Release button. WITHiN 5 seconds, PULL and hold trip button until the message "Service in......miles......days" appears. Release button and switch off ignition. This worked for me in so far as it has extinguished the spanner. Actually, I did not see "Service" or "Service in......", but I did see a figure of 9000 in the last operation. I'm assuming that the spanner will come on again in 9000 miles, but could be wrong. If it's right, then that will be fine since an average annual mileage for it will be around 7K when it will be serviced again, and the reset done for a further 9000 - I hope! Thought this may be of help to someone at some time. It appears that if the car is to continue to be serviced on a Longlife schedule then it has to be plugged in to the diagnostics to set up the next correct mileage/time service interval. Kind regards, Gareth.

  13. Hello Tom and Vanessa, It does bring a smile to my face on a rainy morning! It has often been quoted that with males, if all else fails, refer to the handbook/instruction book/map etc. Seems it might cross genders as well. Obviously no offence Vanessa - join the club. Automatic stop/restart functions. New fangled concept? Not really, these were fitted to some cars in the 30's to automatically restart them if you stalled. Much disrespected then! Good luck with it- or perhaps consider switching it off. Kind regards, Gareth.
