  1. Worn differentials are known to whine when decelerating. You tell us there is an oil leak from the diff and excessive slack in the output shaft. It seems an open and shut case to me of a clapped out diff.

  2. tell the mrs to sit on the other side and see if the noise goes with her ;) in all seriousness, when changing lanes that can be common, especially with wider tyres. why not change the rear discs and pads as a matter of course then take things from there. usually wining noises are bearings, being a quattro changing the rears will be a bit more of a job than our more friendly FWDs.

  5. Morning, prior to getting my S6, I had a 2006 A6 2.0 TDI S Line Avant. with regards to Bluetooth, my vehicle had it, so Bluetooth pairing for my IPhone, i could download my phone book from my phone to the memory in the car, additional options it had was full electric driver and passenger seats, both with lumbar support, electric heated folding mirrors, memory for drivers seat, cruise control and also the 2g mmi dvd based sat-nav which had the RNS(Radio Navigation System) which changed the sat nav directions due to traffic jams being reported. i had my A6 for 2 years and the only issues i experienced was i had to change a headlight bulb and 2 front tyres, apart from that it was as solid as a rock. regards Paul.

  6. Great thanks for that Trevor. Just for info I spoke to Audi today and the battery is CR1620 x 2. Conveniently that is what I've just ordered on eBay. For the cost of a new key and to get both the original and the new key reprogrammed it'll be £168.72 Inc VAT. Not to bad I think. I'll wait for the batteries to arrive then see if it works. If not I'll get a new key from Audi. Cheers.

  7. I can recommend AVS in Redruth, Cornwall. Audi trained mechanics using genuine Audi parts and will repair before replacing parts. Honest, reliable and much cheaper then Audi.

  9. Yes I'll let you know how things go, I'm just glad it's at the main dealers and not a local garage ripping my engine to bits 👍😀
