Hello i am a new member my name is Nick. I want to share my fault with my 2006 Audi A3 S Line TDI with other Audi owners, so i hope this may help others out that may find they come across the same fault. It started intermittently my car run fine but them randomly just would not crank over to start when at the 3rd stage of the ignition i.e. when all your lights come on the engine did not crank at all. I began checking all the basics battery power voltage and so on. I am no Mechanic but am not affraid to get stuck in any hows i stipped out underneath steering wheel all plastics ebentually exposeing the fuses and Relays i removed each relay looking for signs of corrosion or burn out, i found nothing of concern and then using my electrical multi tester checked each Relay had an ohms reading, once i had confirmed all ok i refitted the relays and tryed to start the car. The car still did not start i then still pursued with the Relays this time leaveing them in there places. Using my left hand to hold the key in to starting position i then used my right hand all at the same time and went through each Relay Tapping with a splanner adventually i came to the last Relay which i choose to be the last one to tap and hay presto the car Fired up. Happy Days 😀😀😀. So issue to car wont start seems to be identified as a Dodgey Relay. I do not know what this Relay is for but it was stopping the car from Starting. The Relay No. Is 433 If anyone knows what this Relay does please tell me. I hope my info i have shared will help others out. Car wont start Check Relay 433 this got my car to start Cheers1 point

I can't fault the Uniroyal rainsport contact 3 tyres. I was introduced to them via a chap who supplies to several boys who race saloons. On wet days the cars wearing these tyres were some 10 seconds a lap quicker than the next fastest cars. In the dry they were still just as fast as all the other cars too. Anyways, I have them on the A6 and the T5 and they are just the DB's in my opinion. Please stay awAy from Dunlop sports!! They are just terrible for front wheel drive cars. Terrible1 point

Trevor, No I wasn't, thats probably why I included the photos 😊 I've been doing it for quite a while now its been great fun and taken me over to America and all sorts. It's a very rewarding role, although sadly not financially lol 🤑1 point

No worries Fraser :) to be honest it's always better to stretch your budget to get the car you truly want! What colour scheme did you go for in the end? And what engine did you choose? I'm not suprised your excited! I'm slightly envious! Would be great to see you at the shows and display your a8 :) cheers Steve1 point

I drive for Kellogg's on the shuttle operation, getting stock from the factories to the supplier warehouses (really boring tbh) but keeps me in cars, women and food! I do part time work for a Rocket Science company Starchaser UK, doing all sorts of things mainly assembly and teaching at events. 🚀 Hobbies would include lots of TV, (I'm an insomniac) cars, bikes, travelling and health and fitness. I love flying, but this is so expensive to do as much as I would like.1 point

Hi Steve / Trevor I don't collect the car until Friday, I'm getting quite excited about it the closer it gets. I spent a long time finding the model / colour / options i wanted and went slightly 😲 over budget to get it. I'll let you know how it is when I get some miles under its belt, going off the test drive it's going to be awesome! The only down side I can see so far is how the hell i'm going to get it on my drive, it's HUGE! 😳 I will definitely check out the events section, thanks. I have been a member of the NPOC for several years now and I have attended many of their events, they were great fun and a good community to belong to, so I'm definitely looking forward to some Audi meets. Cheers.1 point

To be honest Mark I wouldn't bother having it done and It's not compulsory for it to be done. I say that as iv worked in a Volkswagen service department. On most cars it was just a software update but on certain engines certain parts had to be added such as vibration dampers. The reason why I say not is because before the emissions update is done, a diagnostic check has to be completed. And from a diagnostic check you could be given horrible news that your car needs a new egr valve and cooler even if the car is running fine with no lights on the dash. If that makes sense. This was all too common at Vw. The emissions update cannot be completed if there are issues with the egr. On the other hand if you do have it done you should get a certificate to show its been completed which you can show the next owner when you come to sell the vehicle. Hope iv helped cheers Steve1 point
