On the 16th July saw the return of the VAG Tuner Live show at Donington Park and clubs from around the country were in attendance. Prior to arriving at the show Dan and I met up at Donington Services for breakfast and coffee which was a good way to talk about our plan of action for the day. Dan and I turned up at 8am to prepare the club stand and then, as well as everyone else gave our cars a final clean and polish before the general public arrived at 9am. This showed the care and attention people made to their vehicles to make them look spotless and I have to say the fit and finish on most of these cars was stunning. Their owners had clearly a good eye for attention to detail and you should be able to see this in the pictures. Our club display was a short distance away from the VIBE sound system stand. This drew attention as there were a wide variety of vehicles showing off the Vibe products, however not all of these vehicles were VAG cars! On top of this at one point on the Vibe stand there were a number of people doing to Cha Cha slide which was funny to watch! The public were slow to arrive which meant from 9:00-10:00 the show was quiet but I believe this was down to the poor weather reports. After 10am the show really picked up and despite our club display being small both our cars did attract attention. This was partly down to the cars as Dans a4 drew attention due to being lowered on coilovers and nicely stanced with Range Rover alloys and matching 27” bolts, where as my a6 drew attention from curious attendees regarding the rear facing seats in the boot. But also the stand drew attention thanks to the club banner and our matching T-shirts. There were plenty of other Audi clubs there too and all the members I spoke to from these clubs were friendly and happy to talk about their cars and discuss the modifications they had made. Besides the clubs, there were plenty of trade stands and tuning companies offering everything from pressed number plates, dent removal and even carbon cleaning. Some companies such as KW Suspension were willing to demonstrate their products by offering free laps around the track in the passenger seat of their demo car. The show also catered for children too by offering free fairground rides such as Dodgems. Attendees were also able to access the REVO VIP lounge which had TVs and sofas for you to chill out on as well as having some of the best show cars to look at. This was useful to get out of brief rain spots that we had but thankfully the weather held off for most of the day. By 3pm the show had died down and exhibitors including ourselves started to pack up and we said our goodbyes and left shortly after. Before we left Dan and I had a debrief on how the show had gone and we definitely agree that despite the low turnout for our club that we should still have a display at VAG Tuner Live next year. We both agree that the show was fantastic and not one to be missed, I know it’s certainly one of the best shows I’ve attended and I will be going next year. Thanks for reading Cheers Steve3 points

not sure if this is the right place to post this but as a member of the MAC (Midland Automobile Cub) I would like to share info on the event this coming weekend; Shelsley Walsh Hill climb. Worcestershire The weekend of 22/23 July is the biggest event of the year here. What’s on? Classic Nostalgia 2017 http://www.shelsleywalsh.com/classic-nostalgia-2017/ Racing cars, rally & road cars competing on the hill all day, come & talk to the drivers, watch them racing. You can get right up to them, no barriers or restrictions in the paddock. The social scene; Jazz bands & dancing in the courtyard between the restaurant & the bar. Music all day provided by; My Favourite Things, Sam & the Sax, The Ding Dong Dadios, Jon Clare & the Fabulous Dough Boys. The Battle of Britain memorial flight will be in the air at lunchtime Sunday & the first 100 classic cars to enter the public car park will be offered entry to the Concours d’elegance sponsored by Classic & Sports car magazine. The top 15 cars will get the chance to drive the hill (not to race but still a very rare occurrence). As if all the above were not enough, the weekend celebrates land speed record family, the Campbells. Donald Campbell’s daughter Gina & his nephew Don will be attending the weekend with some of the ex-Campbell road cars. Malcomb Campbell’s 1927 world record (300+ mph) will be remembered with the 22 litre W12 Napier aero engined Bluebird which will also be doing demonstration runs up the hill. There will be sideshows, vintage dodgems, car clubs & a bloke using RC cars to paint!?!? http://www.popbangcolour.com/popbang-in-action/ What more can I say? Best day is Sunday If you are at a loose end then Shelsley Walsh in the beautiful Teme Valley, just 8 miles from Worcester, might be the place for you. http://www.shelsleywalsh.com/find-us/ 1927 - BLUEBIRD2 points

Saw this and thought I'd share. In certain parts of London there is now specific parking prices for diesel cars! It is a new scheme that is being trialled in a number of cities around the country. These charges are on top of the diesel congestion and entry charges into the capital. Heres an article and info with more info: http://www.buyacar.co.uk/cars/diesel-cars/460/diesel-tax-proposed-charges-and-surcharges-for-uk-drivers hope it's useful cheers steve1 point

Recently bought this car having wanted to own it for a while and to use to go to Le Mans, but with a change in jobs it no longer practical sadly. List of extras: Full bare metal respray in beige cappuccino American rear bumper and lights Deleted side lights Recaro pole position seats mk3 TTrs steering wheel with real carbon fibre insert All real carbon trim Full air lift 4 way suspension with v2 management Custom boot build Interior re trimmed interior in black sofies tweed Porsche cargraphic gt3 cup wheels and R32 brakes BOSE sound system Has had a sport cat fitted (but may need a re map or spacer added to have the engine management light turn off, this it not due to any mechanical fault) I have also added a after market radio but I think a live wire needs to be connected to stop it resetting, just I have not had time to fix this. It dose have two areas of damage from a previous owner who I guess did not increase the air ride height for a speed bump, but it is on the under side of the front bumper. So this should be an easy repair as it can be detached, and unless your lying on the ground you can not see it. I am looking for around £9000 as this is not a normal TT, but open to offers. 07584128757 I work shifts to please leave me a text, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.1 point

I also agree with Steve's advice. Especially in terms of an accident, your fault or not. The accident investigation team plugs the car into a reader (VCDS usually). This will give a reading on the programmed map on the car. Best advice is to approach your current insurer with the question, could I have my car remapped for ecconomy (who's to say how much power could be gained from that?) They will say yes or no. If no don't do it. Wait until you next insurance due date and shop around for insurers that allow upgrades. 😈However, the 3.0V6 is one hell of a responsive motor. I have seen one taken way past 400bhp with a map and turbo, exhaust and a bigger IC. But I believe 300 is easily achievable from a reMap alone. I have fitted a bigger turbo to my T5, it hasn't been remapped though (still comes up on VCDS as a 130) and it is now running at over 170bhp. But, I have reduced my oil changes to 10-12k and I use an oil additive called ZX1. This helps to protect from future wear in my opinion. I haven't uprated the brakes but I have put larger wheels and good grippy tyres though!!1 point

Did a bit of resach and the problem was clogged up valve located under the plastic cover where the wiper motor is. Simple job took me 30 min and its woking like new . This youtube vid was very helpful1 point
