  1. that's interesting, thanks for that. As it's a cabrio which has the roof off at all times if not raining the sound system is turned up LOUD outside towns.

  4. just finished the Autoglym treatment on the hood. after the first proper rain since I bought the car the fabric was soaked, so; remembered to cling film the windows before treatment. washed & scrubbed with the cleaning fluid, dried off then treated with the proofing fluid. Should be good for 12 months I reckon Does anyone do this more regularly that 12 monthly intervals?

  5. I have the fabulous Bose system in my A3 & the clarity of sound at volume is brilliant. It almost sounds like it has got a quality "boom box" in the back. That's the question; does anyone know if there is big bass speaker or two in the rear? The book does not give much info on speakers or positions that I can see.

  6. Hey Joe I know the Bose system on offer for Audis of my cars era had a subwoofer. So I would imagine the system would be similar. In my experience Audi like to keep things well hidden. Have you checked any side compartments or behind the rear seat? Cheers steve

  7. The Bose system in my Mazda 6 has a sub that fits into the spare wheel. My A6 has the excellent Bose system too but the Mazdas is far better. My guess (without searching for one) is that the Audi doesn't have one. The Bose speakers themselves use air chambers to create the 'deep' sound you here. I wonder if they use better ones in the Audi therefore not needing the sub. But, as I say the Mazdas sound is superb. I can't even turn it above 12 because it starts to get too loud. (Goes up to 29 I think!!). lol, I pleased you live far away from me then. I have a photo somewhere of the speakers taken from an Audi, if I can find it I will post it up for you. The speakers look quite unusual to say the least.

But, if there is any update on her I will put it into one of my threads. let Kellybhave her thread back, sorry Kelly, genuinely hope you get the answers you need. Update us with your outcome :-) Dan

  11. Hi Kelly, I believe air bags are deployed more as a result of a very rapid reduction of speed and it looks like your car kept going while mowing down obstacles in its way therefore there is no trigger for the air bag deployment. There is a chance btw your face would have been more of a mess (assuming it's not after the accident) if the air bag deployed, a pal of mine had his nose broken plus two immense black eyes.! I have posted the pic of my last T5 in which I hit a tree dead central in the front of the van, however as this was part of a spin again there was not a very rapid deceleration plus by the time I hit the tree it was estimated I was only doing 20mph. I was very upset as I lost £3k I had just spent on the van. Don't accept the first payout offer!! Do your homework and search the net for similar cars with mileage and spec to be able to quote when the time is right to your insurance company. I hope the van driver is sorry!! At the end of the day it's just bent metal, nobody seriously hurt but it is still rubbish to go through. Best of luck, Dan

  12. Welcome to the forum John :) you're right in saying it's confusing! the S Line spec gets the sport suspension fitted as standard which is a 15mm lowered suspension over the normal suspension. However you are correct in saying you can delete this suspension and have the dynamic (normal) suspension at no extra charge. This suspension is softer. On the S Line you also have the option of the "s line" suspension which lowers the car by 25mm but is a £325 extra. On the sport model, standard suspension is fitted. This is what Audi call dynamic but Sport suspension can be fitted free of charge which lowers the car by 15mm. So basically there are 3 suspension options: dynamic (normal) standard on sport model and a no cost option on s line model. sport - 15mm lower over dynamic suspension (no cost option on sport or S Line models) s Line - 25mm lower over dynamic suspension. £325 option on s line model. One other thing to take into account is that S Line spec has 18" wheels which will make the ride harder whereas the sport model will have 17" wheels as standard. Obviously on the S Line spec you'll get a plusher interior over the sport model. Hope iv helped and not made it more complicated. cheers steve
