  2. Hello Darren, Just wanted to say I'm really sorry to hear about your job. It probably isn't going to be of of much reassurance but this happened to me twice in close succession, and both times I was fortunate to be remployed (within the same organisistion in my case) and my career took a turn for the best - as has been said. Every good luck to you Darren, and I too am sure it will work out for you. Can now understand you being off the air. Not that it matters, but things have been a little touch and go here health scare wise, but all has now been declared well. Yippee! Keeping involved here and with other things has kept the mind occupied, so keep your hand in. Sorry I can't assist with your car problem - I would have turned to you for guidance with such things!! Take care Darren, and sincere good luck. Kind regards, Gareth.

  3. Good idea to put the spare on or swop the rear wheels with the fronts. See if it makes a difference. However, I do still think it's the front wheel bearing. The way that the front bearings are designed these days it's hard to tell by feeling for movement by hand. If the grumbling noise starts to become audible while you are driving straight but gets noticeably louder still when turning right then that will be the time to go back. CV joint wise, I have only every experienced issues that are very closely associated with two symptoms. If the outer CV joint is failing you will 99% of time hear a clicking sound when turning of full lock at a slow speed. If it's the inner joint deteriorating then you would 99.9% of time experience a vibration at a specific speed say 38-43mph, this is not gear specific only speed specific. Genuinely hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

  4. Hopefully it all gets sorted :) as I say servicing wise it should be 12montha/20,000 miles which ever comes first. VAG cars nowadays are put on long life servicing. Couldnt agree more about finding a good garage! They are few and far between!

  5. Glad you got sorted with mudflaps :) I'm surprised Audi don't do kick plates to be honest. Sorry you've had such issues with the dealer but there are some bad eggs about! What are you going to do about the service? I say this because if the ad said it was serviced (x amount of service stamps) and it wasn't then they have misrepresented the vehicle and over charged you. But you do need something in writing to say. By the way the Audi check should be FREE. Hope iv helped cheers steve

  6. You would have to find a fitted distributor first Derek. Long gone I'm afraid and now you find coil packs - not to be confused with coil overs I guess. Simplicity was not a bad thing and you could tinker with such mechanical contrivances rather than shoving an instrument up your computer plug hole! They even got from A to B. Amazing! Kind regards, Gareth.
