  1. Hi everyone. Just a little help. If your chrome trims go discoured/ stained , which is common apparently. Don't buy new. Full set £900. 00. I just removed mine and wrapped them. Cost around £50. Make sure you get good wrap. I've enclosed a picture. Hope it helps. Rob

  2. Just thought I would share, I managed to sort my Headlights out! After checking fuses, relays, indicator stalk, Headlights and plugging into diagnostic machine! In the end found the person before me who owned the car either played around or had an issue with the (On Board power supply unit module) made a hash job of trying to fix it! So had to buy a new module making sure it had the same serial number, replaced the 10 pin plug that they mangled trying to fix or do something they shouldn't! Then getting a family friend to plug in diagnostics machine and program the unit to know what lights and car it was in and WHEY! It works I have lights! Moral of the story is if you don't know what you are doing with cars seek professional help!

  3. Could you borrow a syphon pump? That would empty the tank without blocking the jets.

  4. The dealership has admitted that the screens and headphones should have been with the car as they specified. I have been refunded in full for purchasing 2 screens and 2 sets of headphones. It took a while but all came good in the end.

  6. Hello Paul, Battery test sounds like a voltmeter testing the alternator output voltage and the voltage at the battery with lights on etc. Ok, but..... the ultimate tests are if the battery is able to retain the charge which is put into it, and be able to efficiently produce the high current demand placed in it when starting -while maintaining an acceptable voltage. Halfords normally carry out battery testing and are able to give you a % efficiency reading which will firmly point you to whether the battery is as serviceable as it should be. If you do eventually have it tested and if it does need replacing, you can then decide where you will get one from. As you say, you don't want to buy a new battery, and I wouldn't too, so let's hope it all works out in the end. Kind regards, Gareth.

  9. I know that feeling! And I have to agree with Gareth. £200 for a battery dies seem steep but then again the last battery I bought was for my old Ford escort lol think this image sums it up well...

  12. Hi Paul, only just seen this as just got home from work. Im wondering if there is a key slot hidden on the boot near to the number plate light? (I know you got in the boot now but I'm thinking for future reference) I am somehow doubtful it's the starter motor as the battery as clearly gone flat. If there was an issue with the charging system the car would flag It on the dash. My gut feeling says to me it's either the battery (which would figure due to the age if the car. I bet it's on the original battery). The AA can test the functionality of the battery. Or it's an electrical fault that's draining the battery. I'm unsure what that electrical faylt could be though. Sorry. Cheers steve
