  1. Hi Gareth, Thanks for your very helpful suggestion. I had no idea that such sprays we’re available, I shall certainly get some. The purpose of my original request for help is really just to brainstorm, so ideally I might find a solution, or alternatively I get enough ideas to talk knowledgeably with the the garage , thus permitting me not to be an idiot ripe for exploiting. Cheers, Steve

  2. Hi only owned a Q7 for about a month so only very superficial advice from me. 🙂 swirlf flaps- reason I own a Q7 as I was too slow replacing mine in my BMW e90. I did take them out and blank once I had a compression issue, when I removed inlet manifold they had broken so had to replace it blank; I blanked (£10 kit for BMW). this was a very messy horrible job - gunk you’ve never seen the likes of (at 150k miles) if I was to do the Q7 I would get a garage to do it. And yes I’m pondering it. re phone interface - I have the worst MMI - would live to replace the dash for the android setup but it would cost a fortune in the replacing the Bose and wiring etc - also it would be a toy and tbh I often play with them for a while then just drive. denison.com seem to do some interesting gateway devices that will integrate into your system and provide what your looking for, for me it would simply be iPhone connection (I’d be happy if my mmi version will take it without software update - but sorting some more practical issues currently) currently I have a parrot set up (bought with) and I use an FM transmitter/Bluetooth receiver- and for about £10 works perfectly fine only thing I may do is add a relay to provide ignition on based power vs. Always on as I push in /out the lighter all the time. Pic of this below suited the layout the nicest/most discreet and has functions you can use for forwards back play pause etc. Also wanted it without hands free as parrot did this. As I say not sure what value my early amateur ramblings are but there they are! 🙂

  3. Wow I remember you're previous threads on this car. That's a lot of sludge! I'd be flushing it. And then put in Audi's recommend oil. Glad to see you're still working on the car 🙂 Cheers Steve
