  1. Thanks for replying. I have managed to stop the water leak coming in, the windscreen scuttle was cracked and it was causing water to run off into the pollen filter itself. I have dried everything out, replaced the filter and housing with a new seal, now it’s just getting to the bottom of the drain.. I got the ccm out and opened it and water come gushing out I have dried all the carpet and the module out and cleaned up the corroded plugs as there was one or 2 that didn’t look good, however the circuit bored looked in good nick. I have had the battery on charge all day ready to put on the car this evening to see if it is still draining over night.. I’m hoping the drain was caused by the water and corrosion, I plugged the hazard fuse back in when I dried it all and they are now functioning properly and not stuck on so I’m praying to god the battery holds charge over night as the drain only came when the water damage got bad. if not I’m completely out of ideas

  2. Hi. I had exactly the same problem on my 2014 Q7. I purchased a new part from Audi. I asked them about how to fit it (of course they declined to provide any clues). But from using the new part I was able to work out how to change it without removing the bumper. So the bumper does definitely not need to be changed. Here is a few comments on the process followed: 1. Removed both screws - I loosened them with grips on the thread side and then reached in and removed completely with fingers. 2. The light now wobbles but will not come out because (a) the brackets for the bumper, stop the brackets for the lighting unit from getting past (as the bumper brackets are in front of the lighting brackets), and (b) There are two clips on the top of the lighting unit that slot into the bumper itself (you cannot see these until the lighting unit is out). 3. The lighting unit needs to slide out from the slots in the bumper (to address comment b. above). In my case, the light needed to be pushed back and slid towards the outside wing of the car). At this point you can leverage out the clips on the top of the lighting unit with a flat bladed crew driver - just place it in between the lighting unit and the bumper and lever it down. This did take quite a lot of force... 4. Once the top clips are free, the lighting unit can then be rotated (top edge comes forward) and pulled out over the top of the bumper brackets (thereby addressing part a. above. The unit should now come out. To be fair, it did take quite a bit of force to get it out, so be brave...once out, just reverse the process to put the new unit in. I hope this helps.

  3. Thanks for the replies. Had a proper go today and it was pretty straightforward: Unclip MAF sensor Loosen circlip on air inlet pipe and pull away from filter housing Unclip 3 rubber hoses that are attached to housing Unscrew Torx screws on housing Wrestle filter and housing lid out of the gap Replace filter Reverse the above to reassemble

  4. Hello sorry if this is too late I had a mechanic friend do it for me as he said he needed to remove a part to be able to fit the new filter - I thought this was the case as I had similar problems to yourself and felt I couldn't do anything except break it! Sorry it isn't much help but hopefully it saves some time and stress!
