  1. Hello Brian, As Steve says, blue smoke is indicative of engine oil being burnt, and would not be the colour of exhaust gasses you would expect from ‘regeneration’. If this were mine, I would take the car on a 10 mile run to ensure the engine oil is up to operating temperature, then get an assistant to follow you and observe the incidences of blue smoke emission. It would be expected that if it was due to valve guide/seals were that the blue smoke would be evident on moving away from being stationary at idle at traffic lights etc. If the blue smoke occurs on general acceleration, then that would indicate issues with bore/piston wear. Does the car burn any oil? Kind regards, Gareth.

  2. Hi I think any car has hotspots for stone chips, I expect they know all about it but won't do anything which rather negates the anti perforation warranty, I have always used a product after respraying the offending area called Rhino film its thick and transparent and applied with soapy water and will take a world of punishment to the point where if it becomes opaque just take it off and apply another lot, its cheaper than paint. Steve.

  3. Clutch/slave cylinder (internal?) repair essential. Complete respray eventually and other repairs but was driving well with 4/12 MoT remaining. If cars like this aren't of interest for restoring to their former glory then fine... we'll scrap. Appreciate your input Gareth. Here are some fotos... personalised number plate not included.
