  1. Yes I realised after posting that the VW was not DSG and wasn't as "clever"! 😁

  2. It might be worth forgetting the s4 bit, abd just looking under the part number as I wouldn't be surprised if the same part was fitted to other Audi models such as the s3 or a6 c5

  3. I have found one part I need at this website https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/tradition Very useful to all Audi owners, one problem, not selling to the UK because of BREXIT they say, (bullshit). Anyone know of a work-around?

  6. Hello Kester, Neither of these components would seem to me to be terribly difficult to isolate as a cause - although ‘hole in a valve lifter’ would appear to be unusual, as really would be undetectable camshaft issues. As you say, as a 16 year old car, the repair bill will likely represent the value of the car, and I guess it’s decision time as whether you have had you money’s worth out of it and are prepared to move on, or if it’s been a faithful servant on which it’s worth further investment. Since we are talking diesel? here, why don’t you find yourself a local diesel specialist to canvas for opinion? Kind regards, Gareth.

  7. Sorry to hear of your issues. I cannot believe an airbag sensor fault could cause this. Please look at the news section as there's been a recent article about adaptive cruise control issues on the Q5 and other vag cars. Do you have the car on finance? If so, it might be worth speaking to the finance company explaining the issues and see if you can get the car classed not fit for purpose.
