  1. Brilliant, many thanks ... will attack it tomorrow !! I might take meter readings anyhow and publish them just to see what the "hive mind" thinks ! I'm starting to think that - as the frequency of the warnings changes with the bending of those two wires - that the problem is probably in that plug somewhere... be it corrosion, a bad connection or a nearly broken wire ... be interesting to see whats inside it !

  2. Did the noise start when you fitted the new tyres? If so, it's the tyres making the noise and there is nothing you can do about it. The noise from tyres varies a lot from brand to brand, just as the wet grip, the endurance, and the price also vary.

  3. rotating tyres / wheels is not always as simple as side to side. Depends if your tyres are directional. Check if all your tyres are the same brand, and take a high res picture of the entire tyre side wall and stick it here. I'll take a look.

  4. This is a major change. If it were me I'd be looking at a discount from the order, you change spec entirely or cancel the order. The chip shortage is getting ridiculous now.

  5. As long as it's maintained it can do high mileage. For example my a6 c5 has done 339k miles but it's got full service history. It's all in the history. Definitely check out the C6 buyers guide videos on YouTube.

  6. Hi sounds like they changed it for a standard ride height shock, the S line will have factory tuned suspension which is normally 20mm lower. Steve.

  7. Check ebay too. Unfortunately now is a bad time to buy cars as they're more expensive and people are holding on to them more. It's all about the servicing. Ideally you want full history. On cars of this age or miles see when the Cambelt and water pump were changed. Also check when the gearbox oil was changed. And if the car is quattro which I believe they are then the tyres should match with even wear on tyres on the same axle. Otherwise it can cause damage to the quattro system. Also the headlights are bi-xenon and when the bulbs are going they'll go a bit dim or flicker. They've around £180 per bulb I believe.

  8. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch ☺️ they are lovely vehicles one of the moderators has one. Have a look at buyers guides on YouTube. One major issue with them is the swirl flaps sticking/failing. Also look out for issues with blocked dpf or egr.
