  1. Hi I suspect that the new racks are failing from metal debris from the old rack, when you change the rack you are supposed to replace the fluid reservoir as well and flush the connecting pipes as any debris caught in the filter on the reservoir will only recirculate and kill the seals on the new rack, the cleaning of the pipes needs to be almost surgical. 2. P.S. when you reassemble the new bolts don't use copper grease as I have found it will eventually go hard and seize again, my weapon of choice these days is Aluminium Anti Seize paste as this never degrades and has a temp rating of 0-2000 degrees thats why they use it on the threads of oxygen sensors etc so they don't rust in.

  3. Hi Jack the turbo sockets Rock as normally they get the bolt turning as well and the Plusgas is a must especially in the rust eating version, give it a soak overnight for best results, get the car up as high as you can so you can get a extension bar on it and worse ways get a tube on the end of the bar, you only need enough grunt on it to get it started, the problem with the grinder is it cuts the nut off flush so you then have the problem of trying to get the now flush bolt out having looked at the picture again it looks like you could get a nut splitter around it which grips the nut while you wind in the carbon steel blade which splits the nut and releases the tension whilst still leaving the bolt to be bashed through, only other advice is get everything you need around you as once you start there is no going back. 5. If.the car is experiencing problems just run it on e5. I run a classic car on e5 as E10 it had an erratic idle. Please bare in mind E10 corrodes the rubber fuel lines faster thus running the risk of fuel leaks in the fuel bay and potential fire. In theory most 2011 on cars can run on it but if your cars having issues it's definitely not worth the risk.

  7. Hi I had the same thing on my A6 which is not that different with how it works, my educated guess is its the engine and gearbox mounts, what happens is the engine mounts are Hydro mounts which are filled with oil and controlled electronically and stiffen up when stressed, the problem is they wear/split and the resulting vibration and movement knocks out the gearbox mount which is bonded rubber/metal, I got all three mounts on line from carparts in motion and if you ring them they are very helpful and what you want is listed normally on eBay and a damn sight cheaper than Audi, all the parts I bought were Febi and all movement ceased, I use the car as a cab and done over 9k since fitting just before Christmas and had no problems. Steve.
