  1. An update on my $15 part from aliexpress. 6 months on and no problems. Whether or not it is an "ebay copy" or a genuine part (markings are identical ) that is actually made for Audi/VW in China -who knows. As my original post shows some service agents put a ridiculous markup on european car parts.

  3. For peace of mind on my wife's Jag I get adblue from the main dealer for peace of mind. However any of your local motor factors would be able to supply a suitable adblue.

  4. In my experience, 'open circuit' can mean anything from a broken wire to quite simply a failed component. Or maybe I'm thinking of 'short to ground'? 😕

  5. Thanks Gareth yes - it’s been sitting a while (3yrs) - however I’ve made sure it’s been run every so often to make sure no major issues occur from sitting, seizing etc i guess my question is too vague, but ultimately goal is to make sure I don’t spend too much on things that aren’t materially going to drop the price too much, and yet assure buyer and seller get a fair value i assume an MOT will be useful, at least as a starting point

  6. Hi Gareth. Yes to all of the above. I contacted the dealer again and they acknowledged they gave the wrong number but were unable to identify the right part on their system, so with the help of google translate I’ve been trawling European sites and eventually found the part number I need, for any poor unfortunate faced with the same problem the part numbers for the rear window slot, outside window seal for an Audi Cabriolet are; Right hand side, 8G0 825 398L Left hand side, 8G0 825 397L I appreciate your help Gareth and now I’ll go and search the internet world, there has to be one out there with my name on it. Cheers Gareth Turlough

  7. If you have a sun roof, make sure that the drains are clear for this, or you will have water ingress here too.

  10. Here you go pal I also go my part the same place as rich above took 2days to arrive, also look on you tube to how to change the part - it's not rocket science lol Here's the link i posted on page 17 of this thread: Not sure if this is allowed but here is the part I got off ebay "parts for German cars" https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A4-B9-50-TDI-Brake-Booster-Pressure-Sensor-5Q0906207-5Q0906207A/234133225811 looked no different to the part I removed. Yes I understand it could be a very good Chinese copy, but the add does they do not use these. UK based and 2yrs warranty, part arrived in 2 days. Also found the part on Amazon for £12.99.

  11. Hi I don't think it has anything to do with the delete, you mentioned high milage therefore I would say its probably the EGR cooler inside the DPF that throws up the p2002 fault as the eco thinks the DPF is blocked when it isn't, only just got on to this fault through dialogue with another member Jdragon in the A5 B9 part of the forum have a read it will be an education as yours is virtually the same engine emissions set up. 12. I'd get a second opinion from another garage but I wouldn't be cutting any corners where the braking system is concerned.
