  1. Two months on, and the car is running fine on E5 petrol. No-one else has reported similar problems, so maybe I was just unlucky with slightly contaminated fuel? (Tesco) Thank you gents for your posts. Steve

  2. Hi excellent just do all four, and please clear the fault codes its the only way forward, if you don't want to do it that way bleeding wise just do both rears first and then both fronts. Steve.

  3. Might be worth doing a diagnostic check. Could the part you've fitted be defective.

  4. Sorry to hear of your issue. You could speak to the motoring ombudsman.

  5. Hi why did you not put this information in the first post it would certainly have narrowed the possibilities down, I think thats why Kev thought it was a wind up.

  6. Hello Beany, Thanks for the important additional information - it would have saved two of us suggesting what you have already done! Alternator output at 14.1v is lower than expected, and at 13.7v ,is unacceptable. If all connections and earth leads are sound and serviceable, then it suggests you have an alternator issue and the clicking is likely to be an associated symptom. Kind regards, Gareth.

  7. if unsure unplug the sensor you think it is and start the car and see if the fault has changed to permanent instead of implausible, if its a new sensor giving a fault clear the codes with VCDS and move to the next one to repeat. That will help identify which sensor your looking for in a more manual way. Alternatively i recommend investing in ODIS and a cable and see what the stealer-ship see's

  8. I sent the Mechatronic to ECUtesting.com last week on Stevey's recommendation. They contacted me to say they couldn't find any faults in it so I told them to to rebuild it anyways to rule it out as there seemed to be a lack of power in rev which in turn threw up the gearbox malfunction message. Car is now noticeably better in reverse and so far hasn't thrown code back up doing the same manoeuvre which trigged the gearbox malfunction message. Thanks again Stevey.

  9. As far as I no Dash cam fitting won’t affect warranty aslong as the installer doesn’t splice into the car loom which there’s no need for them to do that anyway. as for dash cam brands, it all comes down to personal choice imo, I’d personally do for one that’s as discreet as possible that would fit nicely behind the rear view mirror. Also I personally wouldn’t go to Halfords for anything as there installers are far from qualified to be working on vehicles, I’d look for a decent tracker installer type company or local car audio installer they normally do dash cam supply and fitting

  10. Tank you everybody. The problem solved! We did the normal resetting procedure. Everything is fine. Switch on the ignition and wait the one minute and then off. Wait the one minute again. Done.
