  5. Many thanks Mike, Politeness is something I practice, but sometimes it can be taken as a lack of firmness. If such things were down to me I would not allow adverts without stated selling prices - full stop! If anyone’s ‘pals’ are ‘open to offers’ then they know exactly what will be acceptable and what won’t. If indeed they genuinely don’t, then put it to auction for it to realise the best price on the day. Kind regards, Gareth.

  8. Sorry to hear of your issue. If the garage haven't already, it might be worth getting a diagnostic check done to see if any fault codes flag up. Also you could consider a battery test as a failing battery can prevent the stop/start from.working.

  9. Thanks David - but I would expect you are as fully familiar with the anticipated price you want for it, as you are with what you have done to it. ‘Offers in the region of’ ?? Kind regards, Gareth.

  10. Hi, Gareth, Thanks for your interest in my problem. Unfortunately since posting my message I have found that I had a leak from the fuel rail which is a garage job. My car was towed to garage they have found that one of the injectors was malfunctioning ( petrol was gushing out) they have also told me I will need a new " fuel rail" £500 +. I am waiting for a progress report to from the garage tomorrow.. When I got the message about stop/start restriction engine was turning but would not fire which was possibly due to the fuel leak. I will update you when repair is complete. Thanks again, Allen

  11. Sounds great, hope you have a great trip. The B500 road through the Black Forest is great. I’ve been to the Merc, Porsche and BMW museums - definitely worth the visit. Would like to get to the Audi one at some point - hopefully next year.

  12. I bought one of these Hatchback Car Boot Sound Proofing Bundle from www.deadening.co.uk for £79.99 and installed it. It made a huge difference. It was very easy to do. I removed the trim at the back (where the tailgate lock goes) by pulling it up. I removed the two side trims (two screws along the top edge plus two clips - it just pulls out (though you need to unscrew the trim panel screw near the seat belt exit to get access to the second screw). I laid the butyl on the floor, in the wheel well, over the wheel arches and then used up the scraps wherever it seemed sensible. I added the foam below the parcel shelf, under the carpet covering the wheel well and used the rest on the inside of the trims (I did not cover in front of the speaker). I put back the trims and all was done. The car is now much quieter, quieter even than when I had filled the boot with sponge cushions. I would definitely recommend doing it.
