  1. Hi its a Hydro mount for the engine, these are oil filled and when the rubber reservoir deteriorates they start to loose oil, yours does not look terminal yet but it will need changing as they only get worse and you will experience a lot of engine vibration. Steve.

  2. My car had a similar issue,it started with a message saying key not recognised. So replaced the battery in both fobs. The message still came up. Two days later took the car to work however when I returned to the car I had the same issues you are describing, no power to start the car hand brake on etc. The car was in warranty and it took Audi 2 weeks to sort it out. Diagnostics didn’t show up any faults and they eventually replaced the convenience module which they assured me would cure the problem, it didn’t , then replace the 12v battery in the boot and problem solved with no further issue hope this helps

  3. Hi the units are not that expensive, DIY is possible but you will need two robust trolley jacks and a nice wide piece of wood to support the engine on one of the jacks, to my mind a garage with a four post ramp is a better proposition as it looks as though its very accessible from the picture and they will have a hydraulic cradle to support the engine whilst standing upright to do the job. 4. If I understand your post correctly, they other vents blow hot and cold air (depending on the temp setting on the climate control) but the driver's side is stuck on low? If so, I had the same problem. The problem is a motor that's bolted on the heater core (behind the centre console, on the driver's side) has failed. This motor controls a plastic arm that move the flap controlling the flow of hot air to the vent (there are 3 motors that control the temp for the various vents independently). The part itself cost around £170 (part is 'V159 control motor' for the driver side). Labour was around 2.5 hours. It cost me around £450 in total to fix it. You will need to find a garage that has the Vag.com or VCDS software though, as they need to perform a 'basic setting' on the part to sync it to the system. A decent VAG specialist garage should have this software. Technically, the whole dash is supposed to come out to reach the part (going by the book), but a mechanic can get away with removing just the lower part of the drivers side dash and get enough space to replace the part (it's a tight fit though). There is a good video guide on youtube is you search for it.
