  1. I wouldn't trust the sellers reason for selling. Service history is key on any German car. German cars get cheaper to buy the older they get but maintenance costs always remain expensive. Could blue smoke be injector seals? Either way I think you'll be looking at a lot of repair bills in the not too distant future which is why I think the seller is selling. Has the gearbox been serviced? As the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true it most often is!

  2. If the rear shock absorbers were clapped out there is a good chance the rubber bushes in the suspension links also need to be changed and the tracking reset. The same could apply to the front shocks, bushes, and tracking. Does the waywardness show as sloppiness at the steering wheel?

  3. Well I go from my experience on my old A6. I have blue smoke on start up. It's not glowplugs as they've been changed and no fault codes so in my case I think it's the injector seals. Either way it sounds it could be expensive and a long drawn out project.

  4. Hi all, Sorry this has taken a good bit of time to sort out. There were two issues, firstly a badly sealed rear window. I had it removed, cleaned re-sealed by a local bodyshop. I still had water in the boot and then secondly, found that there are two air vents, under the level of the rear lights and hidden by the bumper, which were not fitted correctly. Hope this helps. Thanks, Raymond Hope this helps
