  2. Hello Adithya, Thanks for coming back on this. My ‘standing’ on this forum is really no different from most other members, except that the moderators generally have more than a few! posts behind them, and are untrusted to act with respect and uphold the best interest of the forum. I am certainly not employed by Audi, and indeed it’s been a couple of decades since I was employed by anyone. Some will know that! Discounting my own contributions, we are fortunate to have a core of contributors who are prepared to offer their best advice, and I think it’s fair to say much of this advice is based on shear experiences of issues - with Audis and many other marques. Quoting me, will get you absolutely nowhere, but I stand by my opinion - and it can only be an opinion until proved or disproved - that your issue is associated with a below par battery. This opinion is supported by the now additional warning re cruise control, and as the battery becomes even less efficient (if - in caps- it’s all to do with battery efficiency) you are likely to get more and more warnings coming up, and eventually encounter the ‘Christmas tree’ warning light array. One of the parameters that can become substandard is the cold cranking amperage, and the stop/start will shut down because of the perceived risk that the car will not restart. There will of course be other parameters measured by the BCM. Apologies if this has become boring. Kind regards, Gareth.

  3. Hi the INA belt is whats fitted from factory and is what Audi/TPS would supply as original equipment, there are those who believe that parts are manufactured to Audi specification which is a compete myth when you as I did take the kit out of the pretty Audi box [expensive] its got INA stamped on everything, mine is due again soon so I am going for Gates/Dayco much cheaper and from experience better kits. Steve.

  4. Just an update on my research, coming back to the 2ar-fxe Toyota 2.5 na from the rav4. Spoke to a guru about these engines and he said not to worry about the auxiliaries as I can just fit a alternator and water pump from a normal 2ar-fe engine. So that's still an option. The guru said I'd have to mount my current A6 gearbox to it as the Toyota gearbox is transverse. Not ruling out a V8 either, as I've found a narrow body A6 like mine fitted with the 4.2 Audi V8. I'd be looking at the rover V8 3.5 or a lexus v8. I've ruled out the Toyota Hilux diesel (2LT) as they're not as reliable as I thought.

  5. Just an update in case anyone else is on the same path. I bought some 3mm thick butyl tape and was ready to disassemble the front part of the roof where it joins the windscreen. Other posts indicate water flows from the roof into the gap where the canvas meets the rigid bit that latches to the top of the windscreen. It then flows down the sides internally and drips out by the pillar. I think this is exactly right. I have not needed to disassemble and use the butyl tape, at least so far. I cleaned and reproofed the hood, paying extra attention to where the canvas meets the rigid part at the front. No drips as yet. Monsoon conditions this week. So I will see how we go but it looks like the issue is resolved without major surgery required.
