  1. Hi its all about being spiteful because they don't like the fact we have deserted the E.U. tried to get a right hand drive o/s headlight for my car from the dealers but they want £1100 for the bare unit and won't guarantee the new one unless I buy the bulbs and ballast with it from them, that brings it up to £1750, so I bought a refurbed unit in the end for £650 apparently if I had ordered the dealer part I could have paid for it but they couldn't promise I would get it before Dec 23. 2. I've bitten the bullet guys and paid 240 today, worth it really, I had it back in the afternoon and I never had to role around on the pavement. Quiet as a mouse again.

  3. Hello Vic, Thanks for joining. This is not going to be what you want to hear, so apologies for putting spokes in wheels. You need to research Audi’s high oil consumption issues which affected engines up to 2012 ( their attempt at using ‘skinny’ piston rings). Your possible purchase maybe just after the issue, but may also be within it. Long story short, there doesn’t appear to be any economic solution to solve this. I appreciate you have placed your deposit and already fallen in love with it, and probably will have some guarantee with it, but do you really want the hassle?? Basic questions:- how long has the last owner owned it? Short ownership can equal issues. Have you checked the on-line MOT history for earlier points of failure or advisories? As I said Vic. -apologies, but it’s urgent homework time, and even more apologies if it turns out this engine isn’t affected - others on here will probably be far more familiar with a great in-depth knowledge, and will hopefully - for your sake correct me - but just beware. It’s better to lose a deposit than to be affected by it. Alternative:-look for a 2013 on model. If my information leads to a false alarm then I’m grovelling, but if the alarm is justified then at least you will be fore armed to make your decision. Kind regards, Gareth.

  4. Hi the hub is a one piece unit get the speed sensor out and brush the crud off of the ends of the bolt threads and soak the threads with plus gas if you leave it for an hour it should penetrate use a good quality ring spanner and once loose work the bolts loose and then back and forth while hosing down the threaded bit with release agent, failing that heat the threaded end housing with a blowtorch then try, if you use a puller you will annihilate the bearing as they are pressed on to the hub at the factory, the bearing will follow the hub as it comes off. 5. Hi you will be fine, they won't do that again, believe me once properly fitted it will be bullet proof like the ones on my A6 I use it as a cab and because I am pre-booked only they come over and yank the handles like crazy to get in which is no good when the doors are all locked from the inside, 155,000 miles and numerous attempts for unauthorised entry I have not lost a handle yet, no booking, no ride. Steve.

  6. Contacted Audi UK and work now being done under warranty😊. Like your idea about the stickers. Still worrying if handles are that easy to dislodge ☹️

  7. Hi everything is unique with them even if they are aware of a problem, tell them you want to back the vehicle as unfit for purpose that should draw a response, ask them if they supply stickers saying dear thief please open gently. Steve.

  8. As the title says, I've found this website which should help c7 owners find their fuseboxes and what each fuse is for. http://knigaproavto.ru/shemy/en/audi/a6/28-audi-a6-c7-2012-fuse-box-diagram.html Hope it's useful :) Cheers Steve
