  2. Sounds good Wayne. VAT registered and using Audi approved parts? Both questions maybe valid, only because it’s on a VAG lease and service plan. Kind regards, Gareth. p.s. How long is left on the lease, and what would be your anticipated mileage over that time? You could find you might get away with the existing pads.

  3. Hello Granola, ‘….pointless piece of extra weight’. If you are talking the moulded plastic cover, then removing it is likely to reduce the overall weight by about the same as not carrying half a cup of coffee in the cup holder. Kind regards, Gareth.

  5. Hi, to those who still has the same issue. This mistake says that electric turbine isn't working at all. The only way is to change it. But you need to change for following part number 057145601E. Because old models of this turbine will damage soon too. In this part number with E at the end they solved issue with high current which caused the damage. And after exchange you have better acceleration at the very beginning. And its really noticeable.

  6. Hi no you don't have to have the repairs done by them any independent garage that turns over £40,000 a year and pays VAT can do it, please check but I am sure that was the ruling when I last checked, as for the discs I seriously doubt there is a major lip and in their estimation the wear would indicate that you still have 40 percent left which is way over the 10 percent required for efficient braking, example being my accountant bought a 17 plate Q5 this year with 68,000 miles from a private dealer and his brakes definitely had lips on the discs and despite the dealer fitting new pads at the front they were wearing unevenly on one side as the disc was scored, I gave him the number of the garage I use [independent] and they specced discs and pads front and back in Brembo E9 marked as well as a full brake system flush with ESP4 for £575.00 inc VAT, I rest my case. Steve.

  7. Hi, I use an on line service https://ifinterface.com/prcog/car/cp2/inprog.php. click on safe zone then carprog2. Adjust search patten for Audi /model/year. I have already added a space saver to mine as well as jack/handle/toolkit. You can also check out the prices of these items within the ifinterface program, I have found that you need to multiple the advertised price by x1.5. To account for euro to pound and vat etc. Hope this helps. Mark

  8. Hi Al that is a disaster in so much as the oil pressure issues have done for the head the cam seal is leaking from the movement in the camshaft, all that scoring is from intermittent loss of oil pressure which has caused the two components to meet and rub on each other causing the scoring, there are no bearings as most modern engines run interference fit bearings and rely on a oil pressure wedge to keep the cam and bearing surfaces apart, either way you will need a new cylinder head/camshaft and depending on the milage one would have to consider the expense of that in view of the fact that the big end bearings are probably the same. Steve.
