  1. If your garage is only repeating the pressure test it did a few weeks earlier, and which failed to reveal a leak, it seems it has run out of ideas. Time to take the car elsewhere. Did you or the garage investigate the possibility of an air lock that I mentioned three weeks ago?

  2. My 2020 face-lift A4 Avant 35 TDI Technik has gone in today to sort out the paint issue I wasn't happy with when I bought it. The courtesy car is a brand new A3 35 TDI S-Line. Slightly down on power and torque but being top spec, it has some features such as blue mood lighting, Audi symbol projection from the bottom of the doors and those fancy adaptive headlights that dip just in key areas such as oncoming cars. It did have less features than my A4 in other areas though, such as 2 zone rather than 3 zone climate control, manual tailgate and no hill hold. The 2 biggest drawbacks for me was the step down in refinement, with noticeably more wind and road noise, and the hard suspension. Very fidgety and harsh over pot holes and other imperfections. Maybe it's an age thing and my dodgy spine. Once upon a time, the S-Line would have been my cup of tea but these days the creature comforts of my car is more my thing. Lovely motor but looking forward to getting my A4 back. 👍

  4. Hi Dillon Yes I did. I purchased a pressure fill system off eBay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/392977805026?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=Q8qYiOZhQS6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=7fjf4C9SSKa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Chris.

  5. After four years since posing his question I doubt Daniel is reading this forum any more.

  6. Thank You Gareth. I think number 2 is not the case here, only if the whole car is perfectly painted after the crash, but still i have not found any record that it was involved in a crash. Number 3 is the one i need to check again even i cant hear anything wrong. Number 2 and 4 could be the case here, but i will try to find the part number on the frame and see if it match to the one that should be installed on the car. If the numbers match then i believe that it is left only to think that it is like that by design. One thing that also came to my mind is that maybe the whole frame could be shifted back, if that is possible at some point. Looking at the pictures of the frame i dont think that it can be shifted back and forward but maybe someone here knows more. Thank You for the compliment, i made a mistake in the tittle but i try my best. I will come back when i see if there is some wear on those bushings.

  7. the reason i never replied to your topic is because on the internet some were saying you can remove the headlights and some were saying you can't without removing the bumper🤔

  9. Hi Luke. Yes I did and I managed to get the change done without any major issues. The fill plug needs a 17mm hex bit socket or big allen key. I had to use a breaker bar to get mine undone as it felt like it was welded in!! The other awkward bit is the bolts on the sump pan that are above the cross member. These need a UJ on a rachet or one of those wobbly type rachet extensions. I replaced all the sump bolts and wavy washers with stainless steel. I also had new drain & fill plugs with their respective o-rings and washers. Hope that helps. Cheers. Chris.

  10. Hello Chris, Excuse me appearing to be patronising, but well done you by making sure you can undo the filler plug before undoing the drain plug. Many before you haven’t with differentials and gearboxes, only to find they can’t refill them! Anyway, back to your question about the availability of a large Alen head socket. Laser Tools used to do a variety of largish ones ( big enough for you?) as a set, so worth looking to them. Have you done an EBay search for the size you want? Have you tried Halfords? If all else fails - and I doubt if it will - you could take an accurate measurement, and search out a steel stockholder and buy a short length of the correct size hexagonal bar. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
