  1. Hi, As Gareth mentioned, you've highlighted the door shut gaps. They seem to be consistent spacing, and i'm just wondering if someone has added those finger protector things? Anyway, my very first thought when you asked the question is, if you are not sure, don't go for it. And you haven't even viewed the car in person, so that is another risk. Nothing beats looking at the car yourself, but not only that, smelling the car (previous owner smoker), listening to the engine run, etc. A 2020 Q3 at auction?? Question marks, but could be genuine reason. Thanks, Joe

  2. When I had a Touareg there was a trick to reset your automatic gearbox - it doesn't cost anything so might be worth trying. Basically you put your foot flat on the accelarator, ignition (not engine) on and hold pedal down for 15 - 20 seconds. Then foof off and start it up. If your battery has been flat it might have caused various errors - this might help reset the ECU/ECM - as an aside, if it's th original battery, then even if you fully charge it, it may already be a goner especially with all of the cold weather.

  3. Hi Mike, Thanks for your reply, yes I would like to take them at £150 for the pair. It is going to be a long journey to get them so it will have to be this weekend (Sunday), if that's ok with you? Could you please give me your address so I can work out some logistics? Many thanks Colin

  4. I had recently come a cross the same issue with no heating also stop start was not working. So the main pump solenoid connecter was loose re clipped it on and it made no difference so I punched a new aux pump located in the bumper access under passenger's wheel arch from euro part there was an option of the pierburg or a cheaper airtex. For the purpase of elimination. I purchased the cheeper on which was smaller so I used heat resistant pluming foam for packing, the wiring clip and the pipe locations where in the same place so a good match and reatached with the same bracket. The results where not instantly noticeable but after around 50 miles worked better stop start started working agane and after around 200 miles is working normally. Hope this helps other just to note it had already been to a garage and there hanted to have it for 5 days removing the dash and heating system.

  5. The suspension issue you mention shouldn’t drain the battery overnight but I did have a similar issue on my previous Q7 which turned out to be the auxiliary heater. Wouldn’t drain it every night but maybe once a week. Only tracked it down as one morning when I went out to the car I could hear a small fan noise from the passenger wheel arch. A scan of vcds showed “auxiliary heater locked” it wouldn’t unlock and is quite common on older cars to fail as I’d noticed it didn’t work when I bought the car. Removed the auxiliary heater fuse from the passenger side of the dash board and it cured it. 🤔 it might have been the drivers side dash board but think it’s the passenger side.
