  1. Hi just thought I would put this out there, I have been mulling this one over for the last couple of years and finally taken the plunge having spoken to a man who knows his wiring and discovered that 10w wont break the bank, the car uses D5s 25w bulbs as standard and these are pretty poor in the wet at night, I replaced the bulbs a couple of years ago with only a marginal improvement and a substantial cost, so after chatting to the Skoda electrician I now know that HID lights are now classed as the poor mans option versus LED units, I explained about my problem and he suggested using the 35w bulbs as these have more output and as long as they are 12v 35w D5s units they will be fine and also said I should get the 5500 kelvin rated bulb for maximum effect, I asked him why the o.e. manufacturers did not make these and he explained they do but the rating only goes to 4500 kelvin which they class as an upgrade and all dealer bulbs are now 5500-6000 kelvin rated because of the complaints about lighting from owners, enough I fitted an aftermarket set of bulbs two for the price of one Osram and I have now got at least fifty metres more usable light even in the worst rain/dark, as for longevity I will let you know. Steve.

  2. Welcome to the Audi Owners Club. I don’t think this is going to fully answer your question Drew, but I recall a similar fault code description coming up on a member’s 2015 A4 Avant, and it defeated the local dealer part department. It turned out that it wasn’t actually a separate part, but was part of some other sensor - which one ?? - sorry, can’t remember. Hopefully, someone on here will clarify, but you may have to give up looking for the air intake temperature sensor as a separate part. Kind regards, Gareth.

  3. I never did drain the old fuel out, but it has been through a good few refuels and a new diesel filter.

  4. Yeah it's the rear drivers outer light, well I'm assuming that's where it's leaking, I have read it could also be from the fuel cap.

  5. Get this into Audi asap as it should be covered under the warranty which will be expiring this year as your car is a 2021 model. Unfortunately Audi never learn and water ingress damaging sensitive computers etc has been common issues on Audi's over the last 20 years. I know as my old A6 C5 has suffered from it.

  6. Hello Richard, Welcome and thanks for joining, and sorry to hear of your issue. Pending responses from other Q5 owners, I would would want proof positive whether this water was due to ingress from an external source, or spillage? If the former, then that automatically becomes Audi’s responsibility. Unfortunately, the Audi USA situation, although of interest, is of no ‘value’ or influence for claims in the U.K., unless you want to take them to court. If this were mine, I would be composing a carefully worded e-mail to the dealer principal at the dealership, outlining your case that you maintain the spillage route could not have been the explanation in your case, and you wish this to be resolved via. the warranty. Let’s trust Q5 members will be able to share their experiences. Another point of interest would be speed at which this was diagnosed - suggesting previous experiences of such issues -? Perhaps you would let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
