What fuel do you guys put in your RS models ? ... my son has just bought a '21 RS 5 and the fuel flap lists E5 and E10 but I think he'd be better off putting E5 in it.1 point

Hi all, so my mechanic would not touch it due to the map. Went to a pro map company who was going to put back to standard and dyno it. But as soon as he got in the car he mentioned a buzzing noise. Which i had also heard on the way there. he said its the low pressure fuel pump and he wont dyno it but he put it back to stock. We also found out it was mapped twice.. he conducted a smoke test, looks like engine cover was glued on… smoke test found pcv breather pipe had a split on it. So he reckons that could be the no boost detected fault. However i spoke woth the guy who got the fault codes and he is saying that surely it would be a different code if it was the fuel pump. Ive been advised to get head gasket pressure checked and if there gone im fighting for a full refund. Before i start buying parts. However in the mean time im ordering a carista gonna re check and see faults etc. kinder stuck now. As pressure test is gonna cost god knows how much. Its no got no map which is annoying. Trying to avoid a mobey pit like before. As already up to 230 to get to this stage. 😞1 point

Add an air lock to the list of possibilities. Has the cooling system been opened recently, to fit a thermostat for example or change a hose?1 point

i used tesco's fuel once in my old volvo v40 and noticed a slight hesitation at times.i always use sainsburys fuel now and had no problems.i read they are still using e5 and not e10 i do use a fuel additive too.whether it really makes a difference i dont know but i have put fuel in twice without additives and never noticed any difference.i dont use sainsburys best diesel(v power)but may use it if convinced on here, and if it means i no longer need to ad additives1 point

Timely post! only last week did I experiment by filling with V Power. I've been experimenting with the drive select function in my A3 and have been amazed by the difference in performence between the settings especially the "Dynamic" setting which tightens up the steering and adds quite a bit of pep to performance. thought I'd bung in V Power to see if performance could be improved further...I can confirm I found a noticeable difference...throttle response is improved and maybe placebo effect but the engine certainly sounds a bit smoother to my ears!?? . I'll probably do another fill with Shell V Power to clean before I return to my usual with this car. After running my last A3, a 2.0TDI (BKD engine) exclusively on shell (not Vpower) I'm currently using small brand (ESSAR) petrol whilst not a supermarket fuel im aware it is not up there with premium brands.. but all seems fine so far. https://www.petrolprices.com/brands/essar/1 point

@Magnet Bought it privately unfortunately. As the recall is getting done by Audi directly I can't complain, any faults after can go straight back to them 🤣 @jasonj Thank you for confirming the temp issue for me, kind of puts my mind at rest with that. That is the right car you've listed. It's just finding the issue with the glow plug light. I've read everywhere that the glow plug light can indicate a fault with the glow plugs or many other different issues such as Turbo actuator, MAF sensor, Crankshaft sensor and the 1000 other sensors under the bonnet 🤣 Hopefully I'll get it sorted though.1 point

Hi SFIRTH. I did in the end! As I mentioned in my previous post I was working with a private ex-Audi master tech / mobile mechanic, and he managed to find a company to take a look at it who ultimately fixed it. I believe it was Hazzy Days, would suggest giving them a try directly. https://www.hazzydayz.com/ Essentially, mine went back and forth a few times to repair blown amp chips two-three times, but the same reoccurring issue kept blowing them, hence concluded it wasn’t just the chips. Eventually it went back again and they had a senior engineer look at it, and while I can’t remember the exact reason, it sounded like that there was some unwanted contact with the top of the MMI metal case and the PCB which was causing the issue? Not sure exactly what they did, but my understanding was it wasn’t something they’d ever come across before, hence they took a note for future repairs. I am making an assumption that you have the exact same MMI unit as me, but even if not I’d recommend trying them anyway.1 point

Hi All, I think everyone in this thread now has taken delivery off their Audi A4s. For anyone who comes across this. Ordered my Audi A4 40TFSI Avant with Tech Park on the 1st September. Confirmed build week was week 4 2024 (w/c 22nd Jan). Got updated yesterday saying my car has arrived at dealership, booked delivery for 11th March and to take my current Cupra Formentor VZ1 245 TSI away on the same day. Got an update later on saying that the car has been bumped whilst coming of the transporter. So it's going in for repair. Delivery date has been postponed now 😞0 points

Hi gents, Sunday I was half way through my shift when I pulled in to get some diesel at my local BP I filled the car up went round to the drivers door to get some money out of my change dispenser then closed the door locked it and went to pay, got my receipt and trolled off to use the loo, when I came out the whole forecourt was going garraty and the car was gone, apparently the car had rolled off on its own down the ramp and across the road into a wall/hedge on the other side, the handbrake had failed to hold and let go when I got in the passenger seat the handbrake activation light was on, been driving me mad to find the reason, the pads and discs were renewed in august plenty left on pads and discs, went on the net and found a couple of people who had the same thing with A6 Avant all within the build dates 2011-2018 both manuals both garage forecourts, today they wrote the car off, sad it happened but in a way glad of the end result as over the last couple of years I have become thoroughly disillusioned with the company over the eyewaterinw price of the parts and the lack of availability of parts, look at the adblue pipe fiasco which ranged from they don't make them anymore to they are waiting to find a new supplier, on a seven year old car, really, my clutch needed replacing so we had £160 slave cylinder £300 for the pressure plate and driven plate, new seals £50 and £800 for the flywheel all + vat, you can't get any of the parts even though they are now available through aftermarket as Shaeffler reckon they don't have them to supply the aftermarket suppliers but the dealers have loads at twice the price, funny that, then we come to the pipes some of which you can only get from the dealers I was about to fork out for another feed pipe from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder, two and a half feet at most £160 all in, then we have their labour charges, its not the car I loved it, its the totally corrupt profiteering that lies behind it I think they are trying to push us literally into buying the new Hybrid/electric models then they can have a field day with everyones wallet, my neighbours 15 plate A4 got hit by another neighbour which dented the door so it needs a new door they told her today they are writing it off because they can't get a new door for eight months and the repair plus the courtesy car rental will come to over £10000, its all premium brand mythology with premium prices, if you look back to the seventies Audis were very cheap to try and get a foothold in the British market and they were very good cars but no one was queuing to buy them, they marketed them on an affordable alternative to cars like the Granada,Vauxhall Viscount, Rover, they seem to have lost their way with the statement that they only want to produce cars for the premium market, people with loads of money, me I am glad I am out my next cab will be a Skoda/Passat the parts oe are half the price and plentiful which is what I need, I will stay on the forum as I have a reasonable knowledge of Diesel/Petrol Audis but I wont be going back to own another one.
