  1. I'm just wondering if there are other A3 owners that have had issues with the fuel rail/fuel rail bolts? My car is currently with Audi as the fuel rail bolts have backed out of the fuel rail and damaged the seals. The day it happen I had only driven roughly 2 miles. 1 mile to shops, 1 mile home. It was the mile home were the cabin filled with the smell of fuel and, drained all my fuel and the engine cut out requiring the car to be towed home. Audi mechanics are claiming it's a wear and tear issue. I did some research as I wanted to understand the issue before paying the bill, I found people having the same issue but with different brands, Skoda, Volkswagen, Seat (all of which are owned by Volkswagen). It seems to be vehicles built between 2015-2018 with 1.2/1.4 engines. Audi has also had recalls in Europe for fuel rail bolt issues but for A4/A5/A6. I have spoke to Audi UK as I wanted more information as to how often this occurs, to highlight the issue as it could be a fire risk and to ask why other models had recalls but not the A3. The overall outcome was they can only trust the mechanics who looked at the car because a recall isn't currently in place for the A3. Any information would be greatly appreciated as I'm just trying to understand the issue.

  2. Looking to sell my Audi Q5 2011 S-Line Quattro 2.0Tdi in black. 152k Miles, Mot runs out this week. Looks and drives well but i'm about to get a car through a salary sacrifice scheme so seeing if theres any interest out there. Car has 20" audi alloys with 275/45/20 tyres all with tons of tread left on them, no damage to walls. Was due to go for mot this week but external drivers door handle no longer opens the door. Taken door card off and can see the cable has snapped so is an easy fix, i'm just no good with anything like that. 5 previous owners, part service history Priced to sell, £2500. Will take some pics when weather clears up.

  3. Hi all I'm new here, and fairly new to Audi's. I've owned my 1999 A6 4.2 avant for a year now and doing what I can to keep her up together. Luckily she's had a great history and been very well maintained by most owners, just not the one who butchered the exhaust! I never thought that I would fall in love with a car like I have this one. The only thing I am really struggling with, is getting parts. The audi/vw group has stopped stocking parts for most cars. I would like to keep this car as original as possible. Does anyone know of any good suppliers of parts? I'm struggling with most things like an alternator and front grills etc. Or if you can point me in the right direction of a similar post etc. Thank you Will

  4. Thanks Greg, I will try and find a replacement online somewhere? Is yours visible around the glass? Mine didn’t appear to be!

  5. Might be worth speaking to retrofitters such as autologics or Audi retrofits as members have used them in the past and they have been happy with the results. Might be able to activate them via vcds or obd11 etc.

  7. Going on full VCDS fault code read this Friday, talking to numerous Gearbox specialists and the excellent guys at "ECUtestingltd" (Excellent You Tube Video for anyone else with similar issues on here ) who really know these 7 speed S-Tronic gearboxes and Mechatronic units inside out ( and in fact do various work for Audi Main Agents ) it seems my symptoms point heavily towards a Mechatronic fault, maybe the pressure sensors, valves or most likely the circuit board itself just starting to break down and sending the wrong pulses at the wrong time ........ know more once we've pulled the codes, then hopefully its just a case of removing the Mechatronic unit and sending it off to be completely reworked with new hard and software.

  8. Hi Simon, I believe the maps are released every 6 months. Personally, i wouldn't bother with Audi map updates, and just get a mount for your phone. Waze or google maps or similar are constantly up to date and provide good traffic info, etc, most importantly FREE. Just my thought. Thanks, Joe

  9. I did get a 3 month warranty when I got the car so I’ll be looking into that as soon as it’s diagnosed and I’m sure they told me I can use a garage of my choice. I’ll let you know when I find out, be biting my nails till then.

  11. Hi could well be the breather on the rocker cover is becoming blocked so the gas will take the path of least resistance, dipstick/oil filler cap. Steve.

  12. Got the car back and nothing major seems to be wrong so that’s some relief. Needs tyres, which I knew, doesn’t appear to have had a gearbox service, again I was expecting to hear and a leaky injector seal , hopefully not a major job. and the rear window washer isn’t working, not sure if it has a separate tank as you can hear the motor running.
