  1. Tony. What's the point of showing us pictures of a battery? I'm sure we all know what batteries look like. The only thing I ask is what you perceive to be a problem with your car? It has already been explained that you do not have any excessive drain on the battery, so why do you continue this topic? Is there something else that either you have not explained or we have missed in your introduction?

  2. Is the warranty with them or through a third party? If purchased within the first 6 months it's responsibility of the dealer to prove the issue wasn't there when you bought it. After 6 months it's the other way around. This applies to all goods purchased with new or used.

  3. Doesn't matter if it's main dealer or not, all dealers have to comply with the sale of goods act. Did you put petrol in it? If not then it sounds like they're fobbing you off.

  4. Thank you Tony. At last we have a symptom! The battery is clapped out and needs to be renewed.

  5. Hey guys, is there any official documentation or email from Audi to say that the Mild Hybrid system/alternator is covered with a 7 year warranty? My alternator failed last month I fixed it myself as my car was 2018 I thought it was well out of warranty. The part cost £1600 and now I’ve read so much about this extended warranty I contacted Audi Uk to see if they could reimburse me the money for the alternator. After a month of back and forth I have just been told that my car is not covered even though it has the 48v battery and the alternator for that engine seems to fail. Just wondering if there is anything official out there because I am looking to progress this further to the motor ombudsman. Thanks in advance for any replies.

  6. Hello Tony, I think you are getting your amps and milli-amps in a twist. If you genuinely have a ‘parasitic drain’ of 0.06mA, you don’t have a parasitic drain! Interpreting your meter reading:- your meter is reading 0.06 of an amp, which equals 60mA. Does a drain of 60mA point to an issue? No - there or there abouts normal in my book. If you have say a 60Ah capacity battery, and left the car unattended, it would theoretically take around 42 days to drain the battery. Apologies, but what I’m missing here is what are you considering is wrong, and what are the symptoms?

  7. Hello Dave, Tank capacity is 54 litres by what I understand, so you a work out how much it will cost to fill the tank - based on the cost/ltr. in your area for the fuel brand you choose. Hopefully you will get responses to question (2) which will allow you to work out the answer to question (3). Kind regards, Gareth.

  8. There's always I higher risk of gearbox failure on high mileage cars. But that could go for any major components really.

  9. Bought my first Audi 2 months ago! How she looked when I picked it up, and then with new springs and wheels!

  10. Guide and pictures credited to Jack Millin. Flat bottom steering wheel off a S3 8P fitted to my 2010 B8 Avant. The electrical plug needed 2 little tabs trimming off and 3 of the wires de pinning and putting in different positions and it all works. I've attached a picture of the wiring guide as well. This guide should also be applicable to the b7 A4 too.
