  1. Thanks Steve, it doesn't go out straight away. But rather than distance travelled before it goes out it might be time ie seconds. I've been working shifts and haven't had a proper chance to get used to the car.

  2. Hi anything Bosch/Hella you can't go wrong as most of their stuff was used O.E., I had Hella boost and Dpf pressure sensors when I changed mine and you could see where the extra money went, to quote one of Magnets favourite sayings, buy once buy right it is true good advice. Steve.

  4. Probably a sticky solenoid Bri. Open the flap by whatever means works, and you should see the plunger which locks the flap. Squirt some WD40 around it, and gently wiggle. It might also be worth removing the boot inner panel and spray some from that direction. Still problematic? - renew solenoid. Could you please come back to us and let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.

  5. Hello Peter, Could we get back to first principles, and gather a little more detail:- Tyre pressures used? Matching tyre brands, patterns and tread depth on each axle, and hopefully all around? Mileage -to better judge why one rear shock absorber needed to be renewed? Renewed by who? Why both weren’t renewed at the same time? Brand of replacement, if not renewed by an Audi dealer? Has the car been inspected for acceptable steering and suspension wear? Has the wheel alignment been checked - and perhaps adjusted - recently? How you would best describe your diving style - ‘normal just getting there’, slightly enthusiastic > very enthusiastic? Kind regards, Gareth.

  6. Any garage worth its salt would have looked at the two cylinders first as they are the obvious culprits when a pedal remains on the floor. I suspect the garage has wasted a lot of your money.

  7. As Steve said, there's a chance that a turbo or the transmission is faulty. Both are expensive repairs and you would be well advised to return the car to the dealer. He will doubtless try to fob you off by telling it is inherent in that model or some other nonsense, but stand your ground and insist on a refund.

  8. I'd definitely recommend using your consumer rights. A whine which could be a gearbox, turbo etc is a major concern/issue. You could always get a second opinion regarding it's mechanical condition. Or contact the motoring ombudsman

  9. The mystery is solved! It was a faulty hearing aid! Had that blasted thing bleeping today all the way to Kent from Hampshire. I'm deaf and wear hearing aids. Good news, I'm due for replacement in a few months' time. Sammie's in fine health! ❤️
