  1. Hi if you did not code the battery in when fitted thats why the charge rate is up the ECU thinks its the old battery so carries on charging at the same rate so in essence you have cooked your new battery, did my daughters Q3 about two months ago recoded it [simple] and have had no problems since, the BEM controls the charging according to the information from the ECU, if the ECU still has the same information from the old battery it will continue to tell the alternator to charge at the higher rate regardless of the new batteries existing voltage, AGM batteries dont like overcharge and die in short order. 2. UPDATE: doing some measuring in VCDS as I got a code saying low fuel rail pressure. It was reading 1.6bar with just ignition on. Start the car it was at 6 bar! replaced both HPFP and cleared codes and the car fired right up, no misfire, pulls as it should!! ps: car smoked from bank 2 exhaust quite abit for about 5 mins then cleared

  4. Luke. A twenty year old low mileage car in good condition sounds too good to be true. I suspect the previous owner was an enthusiast who did more modifications than just a filter and dump valve. Is there a way to check if the ECU has been mapped for more performance?

  5. Hello so its been a while, sorry for not replying. Anyway i got it fixed and sold the car. What i eventually did: loosened up all the injectors, disconnected air intake, just sprayed some brake clean in there. Had a friend rip the starter, meanwhile i started tightening the injectors and eventually it burst to life and stayed running perfectly like nothing Ever happened. Few weeks later i sold the car. So in a nutshell: it got air in the fuel system somehow, took me a few tries but got it bled.
