  1. Ok I have tested the battery using my Launch CRP123E code reader. The battery resting voltage was 11.8v so that confirms it needs replacing. I have cleared all the codes for now but they will come back and I have ordered an Exide 096 EFB battery which is the direct replacement for the EFB battery which is fitted but I do have Battery reset on my code reader so I can code it to the A3 if need be. Thanks Cliff for your help. Regards Colin

  2. Colin. Those are classic signs of a defective battery. When you buy a new one ensure you get it coded to the car else you will get even more problems.

  3. Worth trying Parts in Motion for competitive prices if you do ( no connection), except bought Brembo parts off them for a non-Audi. Kind regards, Gareth.

  5. Thank You for your recommendations. As it happened I was able to borrow one from a friend. It was a TOPDON Artilink 500B which did two jobs. First it showed up that I had a faulty Nox sensor, which the garages wanted nearly £900 to replace, (was able to obtain an Original Equipment one off eBay for £289, which cleared the fault) and secondly, it has a battery test function which showed that my battery was well underpowered( original, so well over 7 years old) which I have replaced.

  6. Hi , thanks for the info. I have a single cd in the dash and two slots for sd cards , one of which has an sd card in .( also a cd multichanger under the centre arm rest) So it looks like a new as card then . I take it it’s just a case of removing the existing card and replacing it with a new one? . Sorry for my ignorance but I’ve only just bought the car and I don’t have any owner manual and it’s all new to me. Your help is much appreciated . Regards Neil

  7. Hi Steve, sorry, I haven’t had time to look at the wheels, (they are buried in boxes in the garage). My mum is very poorly so I’ve been away a lot helping to look after her, trying to get her out of hospital and in to a nursing home for her last few months.😔

  8. Depends what version mmi you have. If you have a six cd disc changer in the dashboard the it’s a 2g mmi so the sat nav drive is in the boot on the right hand side in the spare wheel well. In which case you just need to buy an upto date cd from eBay then eject the original disc from the drive in the boot and swap it. Try ejecting it before you buy though as some dealers used to lock the drive so it wouldn’t eject the disc in which case would need unlocking using vcds. If you have a single cd unit in the dash with 2 sd card slots and a sim then it’s a 3g mmi and you need a upto date sat nav sd card

  9. Hi Steve Well she's fixed and runs like a brand new car, I had to bite the bullet and ask an Audi mechanic for help who is actually a good friend, he took the car in his garage for a diagnosis and found a number of issues, firstly the inlet manifold was leaking and sucking in air and moisture then the new coil pack i fitted was faulty, the injector seals had gone and a wire to injector number 2 was corroded, which is quite common im told, the whole bill including the diagnosis was £300 which I think is great, as they say it always pays to know someone in the trade, she now runs really smooth and idles perfectly 👌 I have no lights on the dashboard which is great to see, now I can concentrate on the lights, im sure the person or the person before him have played around with something to do with the lights as the rear lights are LED but the whole light including the fog light are on and the front the indicator lights are on (pics included) he's put resistors on both headlights so that i get corner lights, to be fair I'm not that overly concerned with the front it's the rear lights, I just want them working as they should, any suggestions would be greatly welcome. Thanks Dale

  10. An late update on this problem... it was a pulley that had the grease flushed out of the bearings by the puddle water, pulley replaced and 2 months down the line I've had no further issues. I'm very lucky in the outcome of this, lesson to take away from this was don't drive through a puddle because it could be a lake 😀

  11. Sounds like the car definitely should have nav. I'd recommend speaking to the supplying dealer about it not working
