  1. Hi Gareth, limited parts available from the dealer, I have found some on eBay and purchased those so lets see if they fit. As you say other than that find a company who will make from a pattern.

  2. Hello, Thanks all for advice and support. If anyone is interested, then issue was a corroded earthing cable and a quick fix by an independent mobile mechanic. Here's hoping RAC reimburse me for the £272 I've paid for not a lot.. Kelly

  5. Welcome Paul, Would this screw/bolt have an approx 10mm head? There are ‘special socket’ tools designed to remove mangled head on bolts and on nuts - try Screwfix and/or Halfords, or your local motor factors. Can’t get it to turn with a Mole grips or similar? If all else fails, you will need to carefully drill through the head remains so it falls off. I would go straight to your dealer for a replacement fixing, rather than shopping around to try to find what you think you will need. Obviously be more expensive at dealer, but…. Kind regards, Gareth.

  6. Many thanks indeed for updating us Matt, and we look forward to hopefully hearing that all will be well once you have it back. It’s reassuring to have favourable returned comments, and although we trust you will not need the forum again, please keep in touch for any advice you may need at any time. Take care, Kind regards, Gareth.

  7. Good morning all, I wanted to provide a quick update and give thanks to all who commented and helped me out over the last week. I have managed to locate one of the last two VAG Oil Level Sensors in the country and it is now with the VAG Specialist garage to fit and test the car. All being well, I should collect the car this afternoon! They have also fixed some bodged pipework to my cooling system (from the last garage I took the car to). I will be getting some pictures this afternoon that I will add to the forum. I’m now not convinced that I needed a new oil sump, or water pump housing but we are where we are. After an exhausting couple of months I should finally have my car back on the driveway ready for some much needed TLC from me. Thank you for the replies, they were massively appreciated and helped keep faith that I’d get the car back without further issue. Matt

  8. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch. One key thing to think is do you want one with 5,6 or 7 seats. Tech packs are very useful Check the mmi on the vehicle. As higher the better. Check service history. Mainly for proof of gearbox oil services and if it's had any work done the air suspension as that's the biggest problem with them. 2011 was the year that the car got an 8 speed gear box instead of the 6 speed in 2010 and earlier. I think there was a slight facelift too and a slight engine refinement but the main difference is the gearbox which makes it better on fuel and nicer to drive on the motorway. It might of got the start stop too. Early 2011 cars (60 plate) and some early 11 plate cars probably won’t have the revisions. Get one with the 8 speed box it’s a lot nicer to drive

  9. Hi it appears the method you used was breathtakingly simple once you had the right kit which looks awesome in the pictures, well done with running in the fresh wire, I must admit the transcript of this problem will lead a lot of people to the solution for the same problem, top marks for persistence and is it to nosey a question to ask how much the shiny kit was. Steve.
