  1. Hi all Wife has owned this model since new (2015) it’s been a good car. A few of the things we have had to have repaired: water pump leaked 2019 so cam belt done at same time. The airbag light came on late 2018, turned out to be the housing behind the steering wheel. It has a clock spring / ribbon cable that controls the steering wheel buttons. faulty fuel filler flap 2017 done under warranty. done approx 92k miles now plus regular servicing for last 4 years at local specialist. it really is a quality car, I would recommend it

  2. Hi Luke, I went from owning 4 Skoda Superbs (MkIIs and then MkIIIs) into an A6 like yours. I found myself getting numbness under my thighs, and I was concerned in case it would turn out to be a showstopper. In my case, the solution was to have the seat much lower than I was previously used to. Once I'd reached that level of adjustment, I've had no further comfort issues. If you haven't tried this, it might be worth a go. Not suggesting for a moment this will resolve it for you or anyone else, it's just my experience. Have you tried also adjusting the lumbar support? I set that to the point where I could only just detect the pressure from it and no further. You might also try going on the motorway (If you can get to one quickly from starting a drive) and seeing if the problem is less after a period driving with the cruise control only - so you have minimum pedal usage (easier if you have adaptive cruise control). The only other thought is perhaps to go for a test drive in another identical model via the dealership in case there's something faulty about your specific driver's seat... Good luck!

  3. Ir would be worth getting the battery professionally tested because defective batteries can play havoc with the car's sensitive electronics. I stress a professional test because a simple multi meter reading of 12.5 volts will not reveal any internal faults. Let us know the outcome of the test before we explore other causes for limp mode.

  5. OK, I've spoken to Customer Service and am going into the dealer later today. They said I can sit in with them and watch exactly the procedure they have used successfully on 3 cars yesterday, a Q8 and two Q3's. If it works I'll post as much info as I can right here and maybe it'll work for others. If it doesn't then .... (insert expletives here 🤣)

  6. I think I confused myself somewhat, being a total Audi rookie. So the sidelights are apparently the DRL's, and the bulb I was querying is run by some weird switch for rain lighting?????

  7. Mick, when I turned up to collect the car, I had left my original card at home, so they provided a new scratch card, which worked

  8. My Q3 purchased end of July was taken back to Audi Southend yesterday and they completed a reset of the MMI, placed it into sleep mode and discovered that the DPI (dealer preparation I ?) hadn’t been completed correctly and now everything is being saved (radio, favorites, privacy setting etc), which is great but frustrating that it’s taken a month to discover !

  9. Hi, Thanks. they were LUK, sachs and valeo. Went for just the 140 luk version in the end just incase there were any physical differences inside the bellhousing as i unfortunately don't now anything about audi engines or gearboxes yet. But at a guess would think boxes are the same other than possible ratios being as there is only a 30bhp difference.

  12. Did the new lock have an integral switch, or did you attach the old switch. The other thing to look at is the wiring between door and pillar. The wires had a habit of breaking in the older A3s.

  13. Welcome Neil, and thanks for joining. It sounds as if it’s trying to lock the car, as it should do with the ‘drive away’ locking- or whatever it is called - whereby the vehicle locks itself at speeds above an arbitrary 8mph. Not sure, but my initial stab at it would be a suspect driver door lock - hopefully others might be more specific for you. All in all, it sounds like getting it plugged in for faults, and/or the need for the services of an auto electrician. Perhaps you could keep us posted Neil. Kind regards, Gareth.
